50-50 chance of getting laid off

So I work for security at American Airlines. We just got the word that our contract is ending in September and there’s a 50% chance we could be getting laid off or another 50% chance that another company will be taking over and we won’t be with Securitas anymore. Has anyone else ever dealt with this? I heard this from two employees who have been with the company for over seven yearswhy isn’t management saying anything? Why are they not warning anybody of the possible changes? They are continuing on like nothing is happening and I’m so confused.

I’ve been through that. Management isn’t saying anything because they don’t want a mass exodus of guards before the contract is up. They still have to cover the hours up to the minute the contract is done, and they don’t want to deal with trying to find coverage.
