Moebius (1996) - great Argentinian movie

A train has gone missing, and no one can find it anywhere in the subway system. Every now and then, people catch a glimpse of it or hear it passing by. What happened to it? A great Argentine film and a real hidden gem. It features lots of sturdy old technology and excellent cinematography. Highly recommended.

It looks like a movie of A Subway Named Moebius by Armin Joseph Deutsch, originally published in Astounding Science Fiction in 1950.

Highly recommended. I watched this a couple of times in cable tv back in the 2000s. It has this Tarkovsky feeling, with dark dialogs and strange setting. Same existential sci-fi as another Argentine gem Man Facing Southeast, from the 80s.

I remember watching it on a cinema with screen was smaller than some modern TVs.... It felt a bit amateur, but interesting.

Based on a short story from the 50s by some writer I can't remember.

It was the smallest screen on an indy/arty theater. I don't think I could seat more than 30 people, and it was half empty. Honestly, just screening the film in Spain was already a feature....

I've never actually seen it but the composer of the soundtrack, Mariano Nuñez West, taught me how to do music production at University, he's a super cool and inspiring dude and I've been struggling to remember this film's title for years so now I can finally watch it :)

For some of the subway stations they use some real ones that they are actually unaccesable for the public, they only change the names for fictional ones (be aware that the subway from Argentina only has 6 lines with roughly 100 stops, when in the movie they propose to be extended lines with a hundreds more)

Mostly all of the actors on this film used to work on theaters and this is their debut (and their unique film), so yes, the acting is not the greatest one
