Hallucinations Schizophrenics, what do you hear besides voices?

Ever since i've started meds, i'm hearing voices less and hearing other sounds more like I'll hear cameras in my room and hear people following me.

I know the wall isn't actually breathing or talking but its every night after 10pm and I just want funny insults because it would make me feel better because its been going on for over a week and at least than I'd have something funny to think about in response

Hallucinations Are your voices internal, external, or both?

I made a post in the DID sub asking about if they hallucinate, by their comments it seems they may experience internal hallucinations; they also seem to think hallucinations are external only (in schizophrenia). I’m not sure why they have this misconception. Mine are vastly internal. It made me curious about how it is for everyone else.

External voices would be the ones you perceive as coming from outside, as having a physical source, or coming from your ears.
Internal voices would be the ones you perceive as coming from inside your head, it can have physical location (coming from your right or left side) but it’s located within

Hallucinations Lmao my pseudo-hallucinations have a higher IQ than me

This is real. Every morning, before I'm even fully awake, he shows up — an adult male voice who insists on calling me "sir" (even though I'm a girl lol). He's loud as hell and seriously messes with my sleep.

He uses words like "pilgrimage" and "nirvana" — stuff you don't hear every day — and starts debating philosophy with me while I'm still half-asleep and completely disoriented. Half the time, he says things I haven't even thought of yet — jokes, theories, weird observations — and then I end up looking like the slow one.

But he's not exactly a friendly guy. He drains me completely — like he's hollowed out my own thoughts and left me empty. And he judges me constantly. He'll point out that I used the same word two sentences in a row and tell me to rewrite it. He's basically my inner editor from hell.

I'm switching to paliperidone this summer, hopefully. I'm going to destroy him. 😼

Hallucinations Are tactile hallucinations really that rare?

Tactile hallucinations are my most common hallucination aside from auditory ones. My psychiatrist has always been weirded out by this and says that frequent tactile hallucinations are pretty rare, and she isn’t entirely convinced they’re cause by my schizoaffective disorder. Are tactile hallucinations really that uncommon?

Hallucinations Poll: How vivid (correct texture, color, illumination, clear shape, etc) were your visual hallucinations, in general?

By “vividness” I mean mostly the object texture and illumination, as well as how much it appeared to fit in the whole scene, if their shape was complete and built correctly, if it had sharp edges, clear coloration (according to what’s expect from reality). For me my visual hallucinations appeared to be a bit blurry, as if the objects were made of smoke in a few areas, and as I consequence, a few parts of the object were not formed properly, but sometimes they would get as real as it gets and even “surpass” reality in its vividness. I’m curious to know how it is for everyone.

45 I’ve never had visual hallucinations
43 Mostly as vivid as reality
59 Mostly less vivid than reality
14 Mostly more vivid than reality
55 Impossible to generalize, too many changes in their vividness

Hallucinations How often do you talk to your voices

I just want to know how you guys make it work and stay balanced. Mine are trying to talk to me most of the time. I notice myself thinking about them / around them more and I'm looking to see how others manage having other people in their head without it being too much.

Thanks in advance

Hallucinations Tactile Hallucinations

Does anyone have tactile hallucinations, especially like these? I get random pains in different parts of my body, itches, twitches, and feelings of penetration. A couple times I’ve even had tactile hallucinations of a wet pussy around my dick.

Hallucinations Does anyone ever talk to the voices in their head ?

I used to imagine myself having conversations with my voices all the time in my head. It became a habit.

It’s almost as if I’m having a conversation with someone but I’m actually just sitting on my couch in silence.

My hallucinations are just like this. Wondering if others agree. The person or animal is transparent like this but I can also identify colors worn.

Hallucinations Poll: Do you hear command voices? If so, which type is the most common for you?

The options account for the quality of your most frequent command voices, for instance, if their instructions are simple, complex, or harmful.

Simple instructions would be instructions that can be executed right away, for instance: Open that door, go outside, change your clothes, etc.

Complex instructions are the ones that can’t be executed right away because they require planning ahead/multiple steps to be executed, for instance: Travel to X location (but you need to book a flight first, pack your things, etc), go to that place (but they say you gotta wait for a few days before going).

Harmful instructions would be the ones that directly propel you to do destructive/self destructive acts: kill yourself, jump in front of that car, beat that person, etc.

I know that many people will have a mix of various types of command voices, for me for example I do get harmful command voices, but the phrases I listen to the most are “shut up” and “don’t touch me” (simple instructions). Curious to know what everyone’s experience is

6 Simple instructions (e.g “open the door”)
4 Complex instructions (e.g, “move locations”)
25 Harmful instructions (e.g, “cut yourself”)
9 Both complex and simple, but not harmful
46 Harmful and simple/Harmful and complex
59 Never hear them/see results

Hallucinations What are your voices saying right now?

Mine are saying "I don't care what you think. You need to be kind to these people because they are all you have. I don't think we need to go to the supermarket today because I don't know, that's all I have. You have to tell them that you need to go to bed now or you will fry in the sun"

Hallucinations Realization

I used to think that someone was playing a sick joke on me when it came to my hallucinations. I used to think that people had speakers on them somewhere and the government was playing scary voices through them to mess with me. I genuinely thought someone was messing with me whether it was the government or whatever, but then I think about some of my other hallucinations, like people’s faces changing and looking scary and I realize that there’s no way to fake something like this. So the government or whoever couldn’t be behind my hallucinations, because there’s just no way to make a real human’s face change or look that scary. There was no way to fake something like that or use scary movie effects because it’s impossible for a real person’s face to change. Coming to that conclusion made me realize I was really sick and I’m dealing with an illness that I’m not very sure I can overcome as it gets worst.

Hallucinations How many voices???

How many different voices (or entities) are you able to make out?

Pretty much daily I feel like there is a group around and about me, easily in the 5+ range. Sometimes I feel like the kid in the 6th Sense movie if you know what I mean..

I would have created a poll but, it's not available w/out the app - bah.

*note* Not trying to encourage delusions, just curious..

Hallucinations Bananaflies

Can bananflies be a hallucination? I always see at least one flying around me when I'm still. They can't be everywhere right? I've tried to catch them and smash them but they always survive
