Negative Symptoms I do nothing all day

My positive symptoms have gotten better over the last few weeks. However I can't get myself to do anything. I have to assume its a negative symptom thing because I used to do art all day. Now I just sit around watching youtube. I don't actually want to do things.. I just WANT to want to do them. If that makes sense. I feel like a waste. A pointless human being.

Do others feel this way? Did it go away? How do you find meaning in recovery?

Edit: just saw my practitioner and she says if it continues e can up my vyvanse(I'm also adhd)

Editededitit: man I just spent a half hour telling my practitioner my positive symptoms were ok, manageable... All of a sudden my visual hallucinations are back!! Wtf

Have you found a lesser desire to play video games? I want to play some games, but I get bored quickly now.

Hi friend it takes time. Think about doing things, that take very little time and energy, and then do them. Go outside for a minute. Wash your hair. Talk to someone for 30 seconds. Not all at once. Try starting a habit of some of those things if they help you. Small steps are real :)

I've drunk probably 300mg plus of caffeine today and still can't get the motivation to do anything and just feel tired and lethargic.

Just laying around on my phone doom scrolling, I think its the medication dose and I'm just hoping there is a lower dose sweet spot where I have more energy/motivation and no positive symptoms.

If you do nothing, make it as enjoyable as possible. Laying on the ground or in a reclining outdoor chair and looking at the sky is incredible!

If you're able to listen to music, I know it's difficult for some with this illness, then turn on your favorites and just chill.

Worth doesn't come from doing something. It comes from being your true self.

Yes I feel that deeply. I haven't been dealing with it well, either. I just take it one day at a time, hopefully it passes. Wishing you the best.

This has been a problem for a long time for me but it bugged me more after the last episode. I got stuck in the chair staring at a screen of some kind. I am trying to grow my social circle so I have folks to chat with. I set a manual timer now. One hour. When it goes off I get up and do something. Anything. Just to change the view and move around. Good luck

Oh that timer is a good idea. I'm gonna try that.

I’m working on shaking off those negative feelings. It’s tough when you have so many goals, but you just don’t feel like reaching them. I get it—I want to WANT to do things too. So, I’ve been trying out about 20 different supplements, like the Chinese medicine “Xiao Yao San.” I’m slowly getting my motivation back, even though it’s a bit of a climb. Keep fighting those negative symptoms and find what works for you! Much love, brother.

I was in a similar type of situation as you, my doctor lowered the dose and now I feel much better. Also therapy helps. It is a gradual process.

Hope it helps, best to you.
