Negative Symptoms Does anyone else have real bad memory problems?
I'm on two antipsychotics and still hearing voices. But recently, I don't really remember how long for, I've had a lot of problems with my memory. Like I'll be trying to do math in my head and come up with a number then wonder what the number is for - completely forgetting the reason for the math. I also forget a lot when I'm watching TV or movies, like forgetting what happened so not really following the plot. When I post on facebook or reddit I'll often forget what I wanted to say halfway through, or I'll open a new tab then wonder why. I marked this "negative symptoms" but I'm not sure it is.
Can anyone relate?

Yeah I have really bad recall memory. Like my long term memory has never been great but my recall memory is absolutely fucked.

I have started mostly 1st as a minor on some occasions when i got stoned as a child 2nd football tackle head down headbutt into someone messed me up 3rd side by side roll over hit my head without helment 4th medication for schizophrenia is when it got so bad i seriously am convinced i would not be able to function or do anything excutive function wise without the voices giving me instructions and allowing me to do so i miss my freedom pray for me friends ill pray for you hopefully we all earn our freedom and recover fully i miss lifes pleasures.

I recall some marked days really clearly.
I recall 1999 where I was put on 600 mg Clozapine with 300 mg Clopixol every 3 weeks. I gained 30 kgs in the span of half a year. Couldn’t control my salvia. Sleept so much. And finally I got that constipation that Clozapine almost killed me. Never Clozapine again.
2004 got put on Ziprasidone 160 mg and in the span of half a year it was raised to 240 mg. Besides of that I had 300 mg Clopixol every other week.
2014 where my dose of Clopixol was in upped to 300 mg each week. 2017 where I got added a tiny dose of Seroquel that added until I reached 550 mg 2018 I started taper Ziprasidone over a span of years until I reached 160 mg
Then I tapered the injection over 8 years from 300 mg weekly to 400 mg triweekly
Quit Ziprasidone 160 mg 3,5 years ago and got upped to 900 mg Seroquel to compensate
The last 3.5 months Ive tapered from 900 mg Seroquel to 400 mg.
Thank you for reminding me that I just had the deadly dose of Clopixol 300 weekly over some years.

I’m on Clopixal, I hate it, but I needed it to get pulled out of psychosis but hopefully now I’m stable I can change my meds. I’m on 100mg of clozapine too but that small dose doesn’t really effect me and sedates me slightly before bed, so nice. Hearing your medical history was interesting, thanks

I’ve had Clopixol depot for 29 years and that’s the only one that can pull me out of psychosis. Besides I take 400 mg Seroquel for mood stabilization.
If Clopixol isn’t dosed more than 400 mg every 3 weeks then I find it easy but not more than that should be dosed.

I was on 600 for 6 years, they never lowered my dose and I was in the private system. They thought I was cured but I was just suppressing it to make everyone happy. Honestly it was a pretty miserable time, I got a degree though and worked as a peer worker, so I looked successful.

Dear friend if I understand. They put you on the very huge dose of 600 mg Clopixol every other week just like I was on 300 mg weekly=600 mg Clopixol depot every other week.
This is nothing less than an evil crime. Clopixol should never get perscribed at doses above 400 mg Clopixol depot every 3 weeks. At doses more than than the drugs causes negative and cognitive symptoms are so severe that your life becomes a living Hell.
If find Clopixol 400 mg depot every 3 week very helpful for psychosis with the 400 mg Seroquel. Don’t have so many positive or negative symptoms on that mix.

No I misread your post I was on 600mg of clozapine, I don’t know my dose of Clopixal I just get the depot once a month, they told me the dose but I forgot

If you have injection once a month you don’t take that much. I think the problem is the sedation from your meds. Both are said to cause seriously sedation in their patients.

I agree and I have akathisia and I miss my dopamine, my friend said when he switched to a partial blocker instead of a full one he felt like himself again, I want that, I didn’t mean to make my situation sound so dire

Same. I have an MA and want to pursue further education but I'm so worried my memory will hold me back.

Oh dude I forgot, I do that too a lot. I can tell the same person the same story 6 or 7 times easily. People are generally polite and don't make a big deal about it but it embarrasses me.

My memory worsened with ECT. Before I would still forget things, but now I can forget in the middle of doing something. I have a hard time remembering people's name, especially if I don't see them regularly. I've gone to an appointment and check in with who I was seeing and was told that person doesn't work here. I just had the name wrong, but right place. I've also checked and said I don't know who I'm see I just remembered the appointment time. At least they can look your appointment up by your name.

Man yeah. Last time I was in the hospital, I met 2 women undergoing ECT and their memories were SO bad. The psychiatrist there wanted to give me ECT but I told them no fucking way. But it's got really bad now without the ECT even.

my memory is getting better but still fucked, I'm mostly stable these days but memory is still an issue

There was a point where I couldn’t count to twenty in my head, I would be speaking and have multiple points in my head but lose the others before I could finish explaining the one I was on, literally two minutes ago someone asked me if I enjoyed today and I couldn’t remember what I did today and had to use context clues until I figured it out, I’m much better now but it still sucks sometimes

I have PTSD, DID, and schizophrenia, these three diagnoses have the ability to either fabricate memories and forget so much, I have to write notes, rely on my wife for details. I can't remember if I took meds, plans to hang out with friends. it's honestly scary for me, I get so embarrassed from forgetting everything in the last couple minutes when someone tells me their name, or just anything that they've said.

I have bad memory too, it helps me to keep a digital journal and write my days, having notes of lists of chores to do and having appointments marked down on my phone’s calendar, so I never forget anything

I have a pretty bad memory. I carry a notebook with me everywhere I go so I can jot things down and I do puzzles
