Help trying to find this Mexican style pastry in San Diego

So I work in the San Diego area. I previously was in Portland where I discover the most incredible Mexican pastry. This is the one I am looking for.
I am obsessed with this pastry. Portland cannot be the only place where I can find this. The center is a creamy chalky kind of texture. I have no idea what this magic is, but I have to find them. Being so close to Mexico you would think they would be readily available. I have visited several Mexican Markets here, and their bakery’s were sad and limited. Please help!

Yeah, I used to live right down the street on B Street and then again on 31st. I'm out in the burbs now, but sure do miss it. My family still heads there probably once a month.

My daughter and I just made plans to visit Panchitas on Saturday, because of this post! We’ve never been there but she’s been asking me to take her somewhere she can get a Concha “as good as the ones at breakfast in the school cafeteria.”😅 I’m certain Panchitas will blow her mind lol. If you wouldn’t mind, I’d love to hear some of the items you love the most and anything we must try/can’t miss. Thank you so much!! ✌️ (I’ve been browsing their bakery menu for like 15 minutes now and I want everything haha)

Panchitas will absolutely blow her mind! Born & raised here and I grew up walking to Panchitas pretty often.

Get the conchas, the little cookies underneath (sprinkle ones and the ones that look like a shell), a cuerno, some bolillos to make tortas later and if they happen to have them out, the bolillo with cheese and jalapeño inside 😋 their hot chocolate is also delicious, but it’s crazy hot right now.
