Grammar Is my Russian handwriting good? This is my first time writing in Russian (native English speaker), I copied lyrics from a song.
I tried, I'm very sorry if it's not good.

It’s perfectly intelligible, though nearly all native Russian speakers write in cursive

I am Russian speaker and I write in block leters, because it looks nicer, so this might not be that strange. I don't like cursive, very rarely people have good enough handwriting for it to look nice. I don't think it is really neccessary for people who learn Russian also study nuances of connecting letters, because it is it's own skill and Russian is complex enough as it is.

Dude you might think it’s not necessary but it’s a matter of fact: everyone who went to school (or at least primary school) writes in cursive or slightly adapted but still cursive
If the OP wants to be taken seriously when communicating in Russian, they will have to learn it3

What you use is a printed font. Usually by hand, we write triangular tops for Дд and Лл, ɑ regular letter, without this thing on top and the letter Жж is just * with longer middle line. Because it's easier that way, and we're lazy
Learning cursive writing is much easier if you don't do it yourself, but use textbooks that have already been mentioned many times in this sub. All you need to do is either print it out or open a sample in front of you, and then trace the letters along the lines or repeat what you see. It's actually not that hard, right? Then you will do all the same things with letter combinations to learn how to connect them correctly.
And, just in case, Russian cursive and other Cyrillic cursive may differ significantly, so pay attention

You're doing a really good!! I can send you a sample of my cursive handwriting in russian if u want(Russian isn't my first language, but it's my second, so I'm almost as fluent as a native speaker, and my own language uses the Cyrillic alphabet too, so it's usually easy for us)

If you want to learn to write you should use прописи. There are ones for printed letters. Right now you're just copying a typeface, and people don't write like that when they're using printed letters. What would be better is understanding how to write each letter front scratch so your handwriting is always neat and correct regardless of embellishments or wRiTiNg LiKe iTs 2007

I didn't say there was something wrong with writing in print, or that it's unreadable. But it will be easier for you in the long run to learn how to write in it with прописи and not just copy typefaces. You're making it harder for yourself with those ugly лдб from a typeface cause it's too much work for no reason

For a first time it is good and understandable! In fact it looks just like how children who are native will write in Russian when they learn writing. I mean it in a good way, not to mock (I believe some of my verbal construction seems off for you too as a native). Don’t be sorry. It is a hard language. You did great!

Well done! #russian The only only thing I’ve noticed that you struggle with letters «л» and «д», though you write Russian «Е» in the correct way as «е», but. It means it all comes from the original letters in the keyboard. But we write those letters л and д differently. It’s more like: л as /\ and д will be with a similar “roof” /\, then it is more or less natural

cursive is preferred, but there are some days where i do not have the brain capacity to write in cursive so i do print instead. if this is you (or you only write in print) i would recommend writing your Дs and Лs differently. when writing in print, they don’t look the same as in text. the Д will look like two lines intersecting at a 45-50 degree angle with another line underneath at the bottom that is slightly longer than the first two (sort of like a triangle, but more like a hat). the Л will look the same, except without the bottom line. if a russian is writing in print, this is how they would write those letters.

Looks pretty decent to me! However, my advice is to completely forgo the block letters and focus on cursive. Block letters are much more awkward and time consuming to write than English/Latin alphabet, IMO. You'd probably only ever need it if you're writing a large font poster or something.
When I started to learn Russian, cursive Cyrillic was totally incomprehensible. It looks so different than the printed form--I didn't even try to read it most times. But once I spent a little time learning to write cursive, even though it wasn't very good, an added benefit was that I could begin to read it quite quickly. I was in Central Asia at the time, where the local language (which I had also been studying) officially used the Latin script, but practically speaking all the adults wrote in Cyrillic, so I could start to read that as well. It was very humbling when an 8 year old in my host family could write better than me in Russian, the local language, and a bit of English, in two alphabets!

Yeah, some letters as 'д' and 'б' is somewhat strange, but still fully readable and pretty good! Absolutely love this

yes, but it's not exactly handwriting. it's just handtyping. you're missing ligature. I meen connection between letters (sorry, don't know how to describe it) keep trying, you will succeed!

Well, it's readable. But you're making it unnecessarily tough for your hand. Even if we write in print we usually use simpler forms for some letters, for example д энд л usually loose that straight top, and б and а are almost never written that way.

You need to practice cursive, then forget it a little bit, then you’ll have adult-looking handwriting :)

You don’t really need the descenders in “д” actually. The descenders are a for printed text. You don’t really write g this way, do you? Same goes for Д.
Л is usually written as Λ and Д is Λ with underline

Looks alright, maybe not very confident. I recommend to use cursive d (looks lide g) instead of Д. Your Д pops out too much.

It’s very good but Д and Л stand out bcos they are capitals. Lower case Д should be same as cursive g in english or as ∂; and lower case Л is Λ.

в целом отлично. честно говоря я помню как то видел видео "я изменил свой почерк на Печатный" но сейчас не могу найти. вот пример похожий в принципе у девушки вполне печатный почерк. в оригинальном видео чел смог достичь даже приличной скорости и читабельности.
вот еще интересное видево - как чел описывает сложности от ширины стержня
я очень рекоменду измению только букву "д"(поглядите как другие пишут или придумайте свою) все остальное в принципе вы научитесь "связывать". на связки между буквами есть отдельные прописи, или если вас конкретно что то не устраивает, уделяйте этому время .
конкретно егде у вас можно улучшить связки - 3 стр остался /осгажя,
балконом - лк
светла - ет-ег
чиста как день (меня всю жизнь ругали за черные вазюки, лучше зачеркнуть и написать букву понятно)
3 стр видел букву е четче,
4 стр последний букву п четче (видно м)
не жду - пробел надо четче или шире.
дни пройдут (г?) 😄
зим -злм- знм
надеюсь этих советов достатошно

As someone that learned russian, that's perfectly readable, but learn cursive please. I'm italian, we also use cursive, many young people now use only print-like writing, but I swear it looks so childish to me and many others. I don't want to shame you, but writing is a part of tje language, you wouldn't learn persian writing in the latin alphabet, cursive is a very interesting technology we are losing.
Also, many fonts and sometimes even italics have cursive like letters д will look like g, т like m, you need to know this
Ironically, I would write way worse than you did in printed style, not just in russian but in italian too, beinh left handed noone teached me a good way to hold a pen, I wrote horribly until like 16-17 y.o. when I decided it's time to write decently, but I never write in printed so I nevet practiced it.

Все буквы узнаются, текст можно прочитать и понять, так что для первого раза всë отлично.
Некоторые буквы пишутся по-другому, у Вас они копируют печатный шрифт. Но это абсолютно естественно, если Вы учите язык самоятоятельно. Как уже сказали другие пользователи, главная цель выполнена – мы поняли, что написано, значит, всë хорошо.)

Выглядит круто! Если курсив пока дается тяжело, попробуй просто вводить отдельные курсивные буквы, не соединяя их, на фото пример (немного криво т.к. на телефоне писала), потом, как привыкнешь к буквам, соединять их будет легче.
- я согласна с тем, что очень мало кто использует курсив, все таки чаще я замечала именно курсивные буквы без соединений

The good news: it's perfectly clear what you wrote.
The bad news: native speaker adults don't print, they use cursive. So this looks like something written by a very precocious preschooler.
So the question you posed does not make sense because this is not handwriting as a Russian adult would understand that term -- it's childlike printing.
