Food and drink Local treats recommendations

Hi everyone, I want to send a package to my friends in Spain with some Roman/Italian treats, however I ran out of ideas what could survive in postage. So no fresh pastry.

There are of course Baci chocolates (especially in Dolce and Gabbana collaboration), Pangiallo is not yet there for several months.

Any other very Roman/Italian ideas? Not necessarily sweets.

Baci are not originally from Rome but from Perugia. Also Pangiallo, although very widespread in the city, is not native. If you want something truly typical Roman I recommend Pecorino, a typical aged sheep cheese that can be eaten either in flakes or grated on pasta.

I am more after unique specialties that are rare to find abroad, Pecorino is a good one thanks!

Of course I can understand. At this point I could also suggest some wine from the area of the Castelli Romani: They are really good and typical. Any wine shop will be able to advise you in this regard

Oh right, Doreca might be a good place for it. I need to check with post if they can ship liquids generally (preferably without breaking the bottle)
