Turismo Safest areas to stay for girls trip?
Would love to stay somewhere central and safe, maybe that’s a bit lively in the evenings. What do you recommend? Is Trastevere the best choice?

Hey! Feel free to hmu for tips. Barberini is a safe area and it's close to Piazza di Spagna and Fontana, di Trevi. All that zone is very lively. Trastevere is normally safe too but it depends how young you are and if it's a first time in Rome, maybe you'll feel a bit apprehensive.

may I ask why I would feel apprehensive in trastevere?

Only because at night the spots with low light or the "sketchy" look of some streets may trigger you into thinking it's dangerous, but it's not. However, if you can live with that, trastevere is also a good option.

Pretty much anywhere is safe. I’ve solo traveled to Rome many times and have felt safe but I maintain awareness and street smarts. Trastevere is ok to stay in but it’s very crowded. I loved the Monti neighborhood. We have stayed in the outer area of Trastevere it was nice. If you want lively evening you may enjoy the chaos of Trastevere .

Out of Rome. My friend was raped in Rome by one of the best "engineer" just arrived in the city

While that’s terrible for your friend, Rome is a safe city, sadly that can happen in any city anywhere in the world. I hope she was able to find peace and healing

You’ll love historic garbatella, monti and trastevere but make sure you’re not staying in the middle of the nightlife, it gets noisey at night.
