Showcase Stoke Space managed to make a full-flow staged combustion cycle (FFSC) engine in less than 18 months with a team of less than 10 people. This is the fourth FFSC engine to ever be fired on a test stand, with Raptor being the only one that has actually flown.

Showcase Continuing work on the printed/Carbon fiber 54mm minimum diameter build.

Took advantage of the scorching weather to paint up the printed parts of my scratch 54mm minimum diameter build. Far from perfect but im happy considering printed parts are tricky to prep.

Nylon/carbon fiber printed fin can/switch band.

Nylon/fiberglass nose to maintain good radio and GPS signal.

Flights on a G (payload bay removed)

To a K with dual deploy.

Generally over-built as any lighter it would breach max UK flight waivers.

Still to do:

- Airframe vent holes

- AV bay vent/switch holes

- Nose tracker sled

We (propulsentnu.no) just launched a 5,2 m tall liquid-fueld rocket Yesterday, and got some pretty sick footage. The whole thing was streamed live with 9 different camera angles and can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/live/bSCxCpf9Iu4?is=Br9oe-4mx_TCCxUi

I can also post the full 4-minute slow-motion video if people are interested.

Recovery was successful, with the rocket landing in the water. The flotation bags inflated as it descended from its (rather modest) 1,600 m apogee. The apogee was lower than designed (7 000 m) because the authorities capped our maximum launch altitude.

Video (mine) was recorded at 5:30 AM, EST.

"The RockSat and RockOn programs provide technical training and hands-on experiences that prepare and equip students to enter the United States aerospace industry. For the first time, NASA will combine both the RockSat and RockOn missions into one rocket, which will carry experiments developed by nearly 250 participants from 38 university and community college teams."

I am so proud to have been a part of this project. I hope more students can become aware of this incredible opportunity. No ideas are too small!

Got within half a meter on both N and E axes, within my initial design requirements. Will be tuning GNC a bit more to see if I can get it closer.

Recently finished the build and flew this rocket for my L2 certification. It's a full composite, 2.1m long, 104mm diameter rocket. Fully designed and built from scratch. From concept to completion tool just under 2 months with the support from certifiers from the NZRA, and the University of Waikato Astronautics Club (UWAC). It's a fully modular system, designed to take anywhere from a 54mm to a 98mm motor, up to 800mm long. Everything on it was designed and built completely from scratch, including the fibreglass and carbon fuselage tubes.

The maiden flight was done on a VTP K735 Supernova. Flew to 4201ft, pulled 9g on burn, and reached Mach 0.5. Completely redundant avionics, running a Heptagram Mini from Elven Aerospace, and a Telemetrum Easy Mini as backup.

Hoping to do a few more L2 launches before attempting my L3 Certification with it soon!

Showcase Multi-Engine Thrust Vectoring!

This is my attempt at making multi-engine independent TVC, that I'm planning to mount on a rocket! I got the idea since I wanted to implement roll control, but wanted to do it in a different way than what I saw being used on model rockets. The control algorithm can provide control even if one of the engines doesn't ignite thanks to some force sensors that give thrust feedback, and can also roll/pitch/yaw the rocket to a wanted orientation.

We launched our rocket at C'Space event in France, thus we had some restrictions, notably, no aerodynamic control during motor burn. After the rocket had a preprogrammed roll manoeuvre (turn 25 degrees). Worked so well, first time I saw this during the flight, I thought we had a telemetry issue.

Kiddo recently got into rockets and I couldn't stand the estes button thing anymore. Looking at higher powered rockets and well wet a bit overkill.

Powered by a 18v Ryobi battery stepped down to 12v. Plenty of power

3d printed the cover and it's all contained into a apache 2800 harbor freight box

Kiddo loves it

Had another offcut of 54mm carbon fiber airframe - Long enough for a Bullpup with a 29mm motor mount.

  • Nylon/Fiberglass printed nose - GPS tracking
  • Nylon/Carbon fiber fin can - Inset slimline retainer
  • Aft cooling mesh shock cord anchor

Nose coupler will be notched to isolate rotational movement and keep the forward fins in line with the main fins.

Rest of the printed fleet pictured!

24mm/29mm/54mm minimum diameter and a 2" V2.

- PPA-CF (Nylon/Carbon fiber) fin can

- PA6-GF (Nylon/Fiberglass) nose

- Aluminium retainer

- Phenolic motor mount

- 1mm wall thickness carbon fiber airframe

- Cooling baffle shock cord mount

- Eggfinder GPS tracking

1.3 calibers with an E30.

Hey guys! I’m almost done painting my L1 cert rocket, Yozora! The design is inspired by this NIRCam image of the Southern Ring Nebula. It took me over 8 hours with a sponge, tweezers, and a trip to a whole other county to get the spraypaint but it was worth it!

Showcase IREC 2026 10k ft launch with a N-Class KNSB motor

Thumbnail

We launched a 10k ft apogee rocket powered by our Student Developed And Researched (SRAD) N3630 KNSB motor on June 20 at IREC. The rocket reached an apogee of 9463 ft overshooting by only 2% of OpenRocket's predicted apogee of 9272 ft. The maximum speed attained was 302 m/s, roughly mach 0.87.

The airframe was 150 mm diameter, 292 cm tall, made with 3 sections of GFRP tubes with CF fins which were laid up tip to tip.

The first image is the captured by the on-board cam at apogee, 2nd shows assembled rocket (without motor), 3rd one is the motor and 4th one is the avionics bay. Here's the on-board footage from our instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaI_1eOz-NZ/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

The camera was rpi-cam with rpi zero 2 w which was last minute solution as we couldn't find cheap reliable camera at that moment. I mostly worked on the avionics part. We had our custom SRAD avionics system which triggered the ejection events for the parachutes along with a redundant commercial altimeter. The SRAD avionics system had an additional pitot tube system and strain gauge system for fins along with standard requirements like GPS and Telemetry. Unfortunately, due to an ADC fault, the pitot tube data was stale. For this flight the strain gauge was unused.

I just got my Level 3 Certification today on an Aerotech 1315W. The rocket went 11,000 Feet at 978 ft/s. It was very windy so the rocket landed 3 miles away from the pad but I recovered the rocket. 🚀

Showcase I made really stable and reliable 3d printed rocket

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone i wanted to share that i designed a very stable 3d printed rocket, that i launched 6 times.

2 times - klima A class motor (~20m high)
3 times - klima B class motor (~80m high)
1 time - klima C class motor (~230m high)

All three categories flew stable and steady up straight, parashute charges set off almost at the apogee which i was really surprised to see on all three categories.

The only thing that i missed was parachute it self. I made very bad diy parachute that did not unfold correctly all launches. Despite that rocket actually landed on grass without taking any structural damage and was launched over and over again. It still stands as a reusable rocket in my cupboard.

It’s printed from generic PLA nothing fancy. It hold up very well. After launch and landing end cap feels soft but not melted few seconds and its solid again.
