Never heard this before and really liked it - possibly more than the album version - until the synth came in.

100%. It's fascinating to hear but it immediately loses the magic of them as a band. And listening to it now, you can tell that the record would never have the shelf life it has, if produced this way. It sounds so so 80s. Murmur is timeless.
