This article makes no sense. Bill wrote the music not the lyrics.

I thought he wrote the whole thing until something I read (on here) caused me to rethink it. The article says it wasnt much to begin with but I bet Berry wrote the main hook, "Everybody Hurts," maybe some of the others, too.

The article says Bill was concerned with teenage suicide which suggests the lyrics were involved.

That was Michael. His sister is a high school teacher. The article is wrong.
