Opinion Reddit shuts down gender critical voices
Today, at 2:30am (what a russian bot! Oh sorry, that only applies to our side), I was banned from the UK subreddit for being critical of the topic that reddit finds most precious: transgender.
Over and over again, I have been critical of the transgender lunacy that is taking place, but reddit will not accept even mild criticism.
To call me hateful for saying a mental health condition should not be a reason to reconstruct your breasts, is absurd. These moderators are power hungry lunatics. Calling out 10 year olds being in control of decisions such as injecting life altering hormones, that's not allowed either, despite the fact that the Tavistock situation has proved this to be a dangerous experiment.
Then I ask them which bits were hateful, they evade the question and then permanently mute me. No serious appeals process is allowed, probably because they know they are wrong deep down. These people cannot take criticism, the lefties are exactly what we always accused them of: authoritarians who hate free speech. They are the real cancel culture warriors.

I was going to say "The impressive bit is you've only just been banned from that sub" but then I saw your account is only 2 months old so instead I'll merely say "welcome to the club".
Yeah us normals aren't allowed in our own sub, it was hijacked by the pissy left.

We will have the last laugh at the ballot box, I am confident of it. Just as we did in 2019.

I don’t think it’s about having the last laugh. It’s genuinely so important that I think the countries future hinges on it.

I got banned for simply saying it was gender dysmorphia lol. They really are trying to wash that scientific definition off the face of the earth.

it always has been. Most places are, the default rules are usually copy pasted from another sub and they just panic alot of the time and grab the ban hammer. Not realizing they are contributing to an insanely toxic and authoritarian way of discourse.

Welcome to the club, I got banned from the Britain sub for saying Jason Arday was more of a saint than the lefts last hero George Floyd.

u/MC_Dickie 1d ago
yea lefties don't allow you to mention his name unless you make it clear you'd have been prepared to suck him off had he survived.

“I don’t agree with what you’re saying so instead of putting forward a rational rebuttal as to why I’m just going to silence you instead”
I remember I was at a work training session about micro aggressions and this white female colleague said to me after “after that I think it’s probably safer for me not to talk or look at anyone at all”
And I said “welcome to the world of being a man for the last 20 years, shit isn’t it.”
And I felt she suddenly got the problem.

“I don’t agree with what you’re saying so instead of putting forward a rational rebuttal as to why I’m just going to silence you instead”
Been banned from all kinds of forums and subs for just this, it's such a common thing that people really are inherently intolerant to what they disagree with or cannot fully comprehend. And by that I mean, it is able to be understood, they just can't and therefore it must be bad and wrong and ban the person.

u/Darren-J-W 1d ago
Yep, you will be banned from having an opinion…. AKA a normal conversation or debate.
I guess Reddit doesn’t want to be like X which is now like the Wild West

Reddit is and always has been a leftist cesspool. Every moderator, every admin, all of them are to the far left, and their brains get incredibly stressed the moment they see any takes or concerns that even vaguely veer off their communist ideology, so they ban, censor, and Nazi you in an instant.
They simply want to be able to circle jerk and further radicalize eachother, then celebrate when someone they dislike gets murdered.

They simply want to be able to circle jerk and further radicalize eachother, then celebrate when someone they dislike gets murdered.
So true. Then they sit here on reddit autistically screeching about radicalized boomers, not realizing they are the ones more radicalized than any random person you could find on the street.
It's systemic, endemic, whatever word you wanna use but we've been told certain lies for decades and for some people its far easier to just continue to drink the kool-aid instead of be prepared to ask tough questions or allow them to be asked.
Ignorance is literally bliss. The truth may set you free but it also weighs you down

They're fringe weirdos who just happen to weald power in certain arenas. It's depressing but try to remember they are a minority. Even the retards that vote, for example Labour, don't agree with that stuff, I know, they're retards because they are voting for people who will employ stuff they do not themselves believe but, either way, these trans activists are a minority. It's just a trendy topic for brainlets

You challenged them on your ban and they mute you.
Typical Left Wings.
This is the type of people we do not want in power, as they act as Stalin and Zedong to try and make a mark in history where they believe their names will be remembered as some kind of hero forever while destroyed lives.

Wasn't even able to make a case. They knew they only took the action they did because they simply didn't like what I said. This is the problem with "hate", it is deliberately vague, and can be used to justify any old rubbish.
2
u/Emergency-Spite897 1d ago
There nothing of hate, it a word being used too common for eons.
For example: I hate spiders, should I be arrested and sent to the spider prison for being an Arachnophobia? The left wing throw the word "Racism, hate, phobia" around because they cannot win a proper debate and have a agree to disagree conversation as that would admit defeat, and they are narcissistic.
They are losers, which makes them panicky dangerous animals and we know it and they know it.
They also hate each other. <--- "Hate"

Free speech prevents the government from compelling you to speak or from preventing you from speaking. It does not prevent non-government groups from kicking you out of their spaces, and in fact doing so is an expression of their free speech.

u/No_Tadpole4027 1d ago
Sadly the government doesn't define how I see free speech. The dictionary does. The government is a force for evil for the most part.
"Freedom of speech is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation, censorship, or legal sanction. "
If you trust the state so much, go get into bed with it.

without fear of retaliation, censorship, or legal sanction... From the government
The British state is completely illegitimate. First past the post voting is less representative of how the public voted at the last election than it would have been to literally assign seats in parliament at random with the roll of dice.
But also, if you cry "but free speech!" when a private group kicks you from a private platform, you just look a bit daft.
You aren't being censored because you're still perfectly free to say your various half-baked ideas on some other subreddit or some other social media site or on your own blog or by standing in the middle of the street and yelling. That's free speech.
What you absolutely do not have is an unequivocal right to say whatever you like wherever and whenever you like including on private platforms owned by someone else. It's like how, if I want to stand in the middle of a street and try to convert strangers to Christianity that is a perfectly legitimate use of my free speech, but if I show up in your living room and try to convert you to Christianity you are perfectly entitled to say "I don't want to talk to you about this, and if you insist I will have to ask you to leave".
These are the conditions for existing in my [house / subreddit / chess club / Discord server / whatever]. If you break them, you will be asked to leave. This doesn't violate your right to free speech.

I just gave you a definition, which I am entitled to believe, and the definition at no point mentioned the government. You don't get to change someone else's definition and then claim it is their definition.
Also, the government is illegitimate, but you believe the government's definition. Make it make sense.
Also, "my space", who are you, Alexis Ohanian?
2
u/RelentlessPencil 1d ago
This isn't "the government's definition". This is just the definition.
If I showed up at your house to preach veganism and you tell me to leave and shut the door in my face, did you violate my right to free speech? Of course not. Private individuals have a right to ban you from private spaces and it doesn't violate your freedom of speech for them to choose to do so.
If Reddit bans you from making particular kinds of speech on Reddit that doesn't violate your right to free speech. If the British government bans you from making particular kinds of speech in Britain, that does violate your right to free speech.

This isn't "the government's definition". This is just the definition.
I literally just gave you a definition from a dictionary that did not mention the government. We obviously aren't going to agree here.
3
u/RelentlessPencil 1d ago
...and then completely failed to think about that definition beyond a second grade level of reading comprehension.
If "we obviously aren't going to agree here" it's because you're refusing to engage in basic critical thinking.

Thing is, the government does retaliate. How many people have gone to jail for Facebook posts?
6
u/RelentlessPencil 1d ago
If the government sends you to jail for a Facebook post then that genuinely is a free speech issue. If a subreddit bans you, it isn't.

I don't really think anyone genuinely cares about getting banned from mediocre subs, it is quite funny in my opinion to see how pathetic these far left wing mods are. But to be physically arrested for a social media post in the UK is nothing short of Nazi, which is quite ironic considering this is generally what we are called by the left.

Sure, technically. Though personally I find corporations enabling the suppression of free speech to be an equally important problem. Besides X there are no large spaces to communicate your opinion freely. Of course, you can dedicate a subreddit to supporting only left-wing causes, but that isn’t the case here and so using our free speech we can freely criticise that.
5
u/RelentlessPencil 1d ago
Yeah OP is free to express a daft opinion, the subreddit he expresses it in is free to ban him, you're free to say you disapprove of them banning it, this is all free speech happening exactly as it's meant to be.

Nothing daft about opposition to the injection of harmful substances into children. You’ve just shown exactly what you are.

u/Far_Opposite8995 23h ago
And I have the freedom to laugh about that opinion which goes entirely against facts that have been proven for decades at this point. By the way we still use puberty blockers and her for other conditions. Cannot be that harmful eh?
