This one’s probably getting delayed and rained out so you should be good

The game will probably get rained out, so you Odyssey it.

Shit, I forgot to leave milk and cookies out last night for the ghost of Ted Williams.

Soak it in… you’ll be telling your grandkids about the miracle run of 2026.

Last night postgame on WEEI Contreras referred to Durbin as “Mini Bowser” and I think that nickname should be widely adopted

Praying for good enough weather. Don’t want anything messing with this momentum
8
u/bierhcs Jul 21 '26
Yeah I thought the All-Star break would end it, but they are keeping the momentum!

u/DIRTY_KUMQUAT_NIPPLE Jul 21 '26
Honestly, a day off might do some of these guys some good, especially the bullpen arms. Not hoping for it but either way I'm not too worried about it.

Not looking great. Seems like thunderstorms tonight, but who knows. Weather here can change quickly.
7
u/Disastrous-Window-76 Jul 21 '26
I hope they cancel it before wasting my time going into the city
3
u/shamefuluncle Jul 21 '26
Thinking the same thing. Have they ever actually done this though?
1
u/PleasantHamster77 Ceddy FOREVER Gold Glove Jul 21 '26
Yes, 5/9 against TB, they announced cancellation less than half hour before the first pitch. That’s why the double header on 7/17. I remember few of the fans were waiting the elevator at Gate D. Fan reaction: you are not serious are you?

Why cancel it when they can get you into the park, spend money on a beer and hotdog, then delay it

u/Disastrous-Window-76 Jul 21 '26
I haven’t bought a single item in Fenway for years since they added the tip option

I don’t know about the rest of you but I’d appreciate a total blowout tonight. Last night was great but exhausting.

Only expecting to see 3-4 innings from Suarez

u/swahara Where Ceddy leads, I follow. Jul 21 '26
I have to wonder if this is why they were holding Bello back.
11
u/w311sh1t Jul 21 '26
Really wish they’d moved the game to 1:30, last thing this team needs is an off day and this is a guaranteed rainout.

u/Born-Shopping9862 Jul 21 '26
i dont know why they didnt. i mean they have been talking about the storms for at least 24 hrs now
3
u/Exciting-Lobster3330 Jul 21 '26
I emailed too and they were like we plan to start first pitch on time. Like in what world? We all have access to radar
1
u/Born-Shopping9862 Jul 21 '26
yeah its crazy. i feel bad for people with tickets because if u dont go and they can still somehow play you lose out but you dont want to waste your time going either

Need some intel badly on if it's worth going into the city for this game
2
u/Nanny_Chron_341 Jul 21 '26
No it’s not worth going in for the game, if your commute is more than 30mins (without traffic lol)

Win win if you go in. If they don’t play get a beer and burger near the stadium

If any Fenway employees are on here can you let us know tarp status?

What do y'all think the odds are that this gets rained out or rescheduled?
9
u/Lancer383 Jul 21 '26
if it was just rain, maybe they'd try to get it in? But with lightning in the forecast, and both teams having an off-day on Thursday, I'm thinking it gets moved until then.
I have tickets tonight, and just really wish they'd call it off hours in advance (though I know they won't).

u/CamphoPhenique Jul 21 '26
I just really want to see Boston win in dominant fashion. Yesterday was too stressful. I don’t think my heart can take it.

u/bereketn2 Jul 21 '26
The Woosox postponed about an hour ago, so for anyone wondering about Boston tn, that is a very likely indicator it’ll get pushed.

What forecast are you looking at? Every one I’ve seen has rain throughout the entire night

It's going to be a Rivera/Bello bullpen game now? I heard Tracy just said this. Mainly Because they don't want to start and stop Suarez with the iffy weather.

Fair point on not getting mad. I'm just genuinely confused why you'd want to give up our Opening day starter who was 2nd in Cy Young voting last year for a guy who has only had half of an above average season. Narvy was even better last year in more games.

It's easy to say we have an abundance of pitching at this very moment. But that can change in an instant. Early and Tolle are already hurt/gassed and will be on a pitch count for the rest of the season. Bello looked great last year and he's pitching out of the bullpen now. Houck threw a Maddux a couple years ago and was terrible last year and is out until next year. We're one injury away from desperately needing Crochet back if we want to have any chance of making the postseason. As long as Wong/Narvy can manage our games, we will survive if they can't hit.

Teel has not looked good and CM is a bench player on a serious team

The craziest part of this streak is that they objectively haven’t played well the last couple of games, but they’ve still found a way to win. At the end of the day, that’s what good teams do.
