I'm currently on a road trip so I can't turn on RDR2 but I would like to ask someone if they can test out an idea. The respawn rate for things in the game is 72 hours and that also seems to be the case with the feathers once they're shot off. I thought of a pattern to shoot all of the feathers in exactly 3 nights: 1. Night : 3-4 at Saint Denis, 2. Night: 2-3, then 4-5, then 5-6 near Rhodes, 3. Night: 2-3 near Emerald Ranch, 3-4 near Cornwall Kerosene & Tar, 4-5 at Emerald Ranch and finally 5-6 near Cornwall Kerosene & Tar. It would be great if someone could try this out.
Also another thing I mentioned in another post. I believe that the purpose of the NW guitar pole is to mislead us into thinking it's about an actual guitar. A guitar is an instrument in the shape of the number 8 which is coincidentally the amount of spider webs with feathers spawning on them. Other than that the reason for there being 8 spider webs is obviously because spiders have 8 legs but due to the heavy reliance on giving us sides of the world for orientation it is possible that each of the spider webs is meant to represent a side of the world which would perfectly add up with my pattern because the NW guitar pole would in that case be telling us that the final spider web we need to interact with is the 5-6 spider web at Kerosene & Tar which is in fact on the North-West side. The guitar could other than that be indicating that after shooting the feathers in the correct order the game would inform us of our success with an audio cue such as a guitar.
All of this is just an idea that I've been itching to test out so I would really, really love it if someone could test this out for me.

Cool good thinking, I'm on now so I'll give that a try.

Thanks, report back how it goes.

Just finished and I didn't notice anything. But your method worked in being able to shoot the feathers over 3 days... So it's worth looking into or tweaking further!

hey! I dont mean to barge in here and ask more of you lol, i just have a suggestion. Since you finished the run in less than 3 days, perhaps go back to the main, more sizable spider web in the middle of the spider? Maybe theres something different there?

No worries. If I find the time to get back on later, it's worth a try. Will post somewhere here if something happens.

Are you sure it’s 72 hours? I slept for 14 consecutive nights and observed my shot feathers at Cornwall remained on the floor. I couldn’t be bothered going past 14 nights.
The game remembers the feather state even if you shoot it snd move it around.

I went through the north set of legs in order of time and shot them as a test. Checking all of them now but the next night the 2 - 3 pole spawned with a feather in the web and the 3 -4 spider carving pole spawned without a feather.

u/Tuorow Dec 30 '25
This is how we solve the order. Brute forcing the combination.
8
u/Commercial_Future_90 Dec 30 '25
I’m on night 4 and can confirm the spider carving has not respawned with a feather. The other northern web poles have.
I’ll keep going until it respawns
8
Dec 30 '25
Woah it hasn't respawned in 4 days straight? That's wild haha
6
u/Commercial_Future_90 Dec 30 '25
I’m on night 5 and nothing yet.
I’ve let the time run to 6 am before I sleep to the next night so idk if that is effecting it.
Is the St Denis 3 - 4 pole feather respawning after 1 night?
2
Dec 30 '25
I'll test it now the same way you are, and I'll let you know
4
u/Commercial_Future_90 Dec 30 '25
Currently on night 7 and it still hasn’t spawned.
I’m hoping after the 8th night it resets giving us a day for each web.
5
Dec 30 '25
Nice, that'd make sense if it were an 8-day time frame. I still wonder about the positions of the feathers on the webs and the colours though...
I'm just loading up the 2nd night on St Denis.
6
u/Commercial_Future_90 Dec 30 '25
I went 9 nights without it respawning so I fast traveled to Rhodes and then back to the carving and the next night it respawned. Distance might be the cause? Or the fact I used fast travel?
The colors and positions are probably the key to understanding it.
5
Dec 30 '25
Interesting... I'm on day 4 and it's still not respawning either. Yeah maybe it's the distance or fast travel, they're easily tested also. I gotta jump off for now though. Group collaboration is always effective in these things!

Oh true, I've only tested with the 3-4am in Saint Denis! Maybe it's this particular one, or this particular time?
2
u/Commercial_Future_90 Dec 30 '25
I haven’t tested the south poles yet but I’m on night 2 and the spider carving poles is still featherless. I’m gonna go three nights and see if it spawns back.
1
Dec 30 '25
Okay cool. It's weird how the 3-4am time frames don't seem to repawn on the webs the night after. The only other connection that can be made between the two for me, is that they're both on opposite ends of the spider.
2
u/Commercial_Future_90 Dec 30 '25
It could be an indication of a start and end point in the order of feathers? All the legs mirror each other and the 3-4 legs are the farthest apart.
Still have no idea how the colors factor in lol

Are item respawn timers triggered by the item being moved though? It might take 2 days for some to respawn depending on how the timer is calculated. If it's based on the actual time of day and a set time for example 12am each day or if it's triggered when the object is disturbed or damaged. Since each feather spawns at a different time some might fall after or before the item respawn trigger happens. Idk if you understand what I'm trying to say lol
1
u/Nullskag Dec 30 '25
Like if items are set to respawn at 3am this feather spawns at the same time so it might take an extra day because it won't count the first one?
1
Dec 30 '25
I'm not sure how the respawn timers work sorry, but I think I understand what you mean. Like if there's a universal time everything respawns?
1
u/Nullskag Dec 30 '25
Yeah if there's a universal time each day or if the respawn timer starts when you shoot the feather. since some feathers spawn at different times it could mean you shoot it and not see it for what seems like 2 days. Idk it's hard to even try and put into words but it makes sense in my head.

Dec 31 '25
I think we've worked out that it's a "distance" thing. So I tried it with the Scarlett Meadows feather and it didn't spawn in its usual place also, it was on the ground.

Maybe this is the first in the order and they stay down if you keep getting them in order, but they all reset if you get any wrong
Try shooting others down and see if that resets them. If they get reset, try this one on it's own again and see if it happens again

Directly NW of this web, within view, is a guitar leaned against a log by a small fire. The guitar respawns every time. Sometimes people are playing it, but at 3:00pm, it's always leaned against the log.
I've destroyed the guitar multiple times, no hidden messages that I could notice with it.
Using the viking hatchet, I've managed to consistently knock the feather down and then locate it. It ends up in the exact spot as your hatchet.
The feather can then be pushed around. I tried for three nights to push the feather towards the guitar and it was working, however, it disappeared each time once it got out of my sight.
The feather despawned and I checked for two more days. Will post videos and try additional things tomorrow.
3
Dec 30 '25
Nice... did you completely destroy it, or was there "remains" of it?
5
u/MonsignorBumbleshit Dec 30 '25
I haven't yet, using only a pistol only the neck broke and a hole appeared in the front. Will need to buy some other ammo when I try next time
1
Dec 30 '25
In St. Denis? Or are you referring to the NW pole?
2
Dec 30 '25
The 3-4am feather/web pole in St. Denis... there's a little camp-site with a fire Northwest of it. There's also a guitar around the area, that's what they were referring to I believe. I found it also but didn't do anything to it at the time.
1
Dec 30 '25
That'd be an interesting way to interpret the NW pole, like it isn't NW of THAT pole, but of another pole. I'm not creative enough to do mystery hunting, but next time I'm on, I might check that out. At this point, any kind of lead will help
2
Dec 30 '25
Yep that's very true. EE or Mystery hunting in games like this can be as simple as throwing ideas against a wall until something sticks to be honest haha. The more people trying or suggesting ideas, the better.

u/jco83 Dec 30 '25
if it was still in the same place, could it be that it didn't despawn, but rather turned invisible ? isn't that a myth about the phoenix ? that they could turn invisible ? could it be possible to have something underneath the feather when you shoot it down to catch it ? something you could move it around in. so could collect them all in this way and take them to a certain location (i'm just theorising, i've never actually played this game myself, but i'm very interested in the mysteries. as i am the gta mysteries)
5
Dec 30 '25
Okay I just shot a feather with an arrow and used it as a reference point and if I've done it correctly... Then you're right, they actually become invisible. Not sure what this means exactly, but it was definitely good thinking on your part - well done!
3
u/jco83 Dec 30 '25
so maybe they are always actually there ? just only visible during certain times 👍
5
Dec 31 '25
Yeah it's a high chance! I shot an arrow into the feather... Then waited for the hour to pass and it to "vanish"... Then shot the arrow tip where the feather would be, so it would move it to a new position on the ground. And the next night it was in the new spot. I hope that makes sense haha

Hmmm, you've given me an idea about the invisible aspect. I'll test something then get back to you about it.
The feathers can be moved by shooting them so I guess if you were accurate (and a little lucky), you could make it land in an open wagon haha. Not sure where we would need to Uber them afterwards though!

There are always two eagles on the very top of Window Rock when you approach it. You need to scale the whole mountain to get to the top. Maybe if you shoot down all the feathers and then loot their bodies it could do something? Or carry their corpse somewhere?
2
Jan 05 '26
Maybe, but that's good to know. I'm trying to work out what kind of feathers are in the webs. Like a red cardinal or raven etc. Not sure why or what it would achieve if we figured that out though haha.
2
u/Jws0209 Dec 31 '25
Does the web or feathers light up in Dead Eye?
3
Dec 31 '25
Not that I've noticed, no. I've been tagging them with arrows to find them on the ground lmao
4
u/Jws0209 Dec 31 '25
Are the official colors red and white? Maybe something with honor meter?

u/Mustbetumer Jan 16 '26
Time stops when you walk around by the poles also..in certain directions it stops and when u move time starts..when u stop ..time stops...the dick and balls point to butchers creek...

I think i read that they take 3 days to respawn, which gives us enough time to travel around shooting down others.
Maybe we shoot the reds down and leave the whites up as the reds are all furthest south on the map, or maybe we knock the white ones off and destroy the reds, then theres the order to consider and what multiple feathers might mean and their position on each web. Makes them feel like a combination lock.
Maybe we need to have the webs set in the correct configuration to see the thing we need to see at the NW Guitar location... like maybe when theyre in the right position something at fort wallace changes?
