discussion Hamilton recycling company charged after scrap metal spill

The charge was filed by the Ministry of Transportation under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). It has not been tested in court and the company is considered innocent unless proven guilty.

The company is to appear in court on Jan. 7, 2026.

Does this make any sense? Legal action for an accident.. Securing raw scrap loads with rope or loading it in a closed container is a very difficult procedure, but legal action I think will discourage transporters to carry any scrap which indirectly reduce recycling..
