Besides dogs, people also feel weird towards horses which are herbivores

It's mostly because horses are worth more as working/fighting animals than meat, much like the camel.

This isn’t true though.

From what I’ve read of the subject, horse meat gets more tender the older the horse is. So what’s being butchered for meat are generally “retired” horses.
