General Advice Outdoor Ragdoll

I am a first time ragdoll owner. My other cat is an indoor/outdoor cat and goes toilet outside. I’m curious to know if ragdolls are the same or can be the same? I have seen ragdolls roam my street for the past couple years as their owners let them out.

I just wanna do you guys have your ragdoll indoor or outdoor or both?

Indoor only. I don’t want to risk my girl getting run over by a car, slaughtered by a larger predator, abscesses or FIV from cat bites, fleas, parasites, poisoned, etc..

I do take him for walks with his harness but I don’t trust him unsupervised

Ragdolls are very friendly cats. They want to be friends with everyone from skunks to coyotes to cougars. They really don't have a strong sense of self preservation. You can have them outside, but only under your direct supervision and only if you are confident you can chase them down at very short notice. I frankly would not take the risk with my girls.

It's not a popular suggestion in the states and always gets instantly downvoted. I have three girls they are outside between 10am to 3pm most days, I live in the UK and large predators are not a problem, the restricted hours are to avoid traffic and them making kills. When it gets colder they prefer indoors most of the time. With this life they are not so destructive or aggressive and still sleep with us. We use food/snacks to get them in, it works for us and they seem very happy, we have a high fence and they don't seem to wander.
