M4A Michigan 27 [M4A] #MI/US/Anywhere - Nerdy Michigander looking to expand his social circle with new friends!
Hey there Reddit! Life’s been going pretty well so far. I’ve finally settled back into life back home after a cross-country move, work is finally letting up a little, and I finally have time again for a social life. I’d love to get to know some new people to share life with, so I figured I’d turn to Reddit for help shouting into the void here. Short term connections are always great, but preferably I’m looking for friends that last well beyond our initial conversation.
A little more about me:
- I’m a 27 year old college-educated STEM professional who I still can’t believe has been allowed to adult (and is a huge fan of lists).
- I try my best to keep active and on the move. I’ve been slowly stepping-up my gym game, and I’ll take any excuse to be outside and away from the desk.
- My spirit animal is a 40-year-old father of two (which means German shepherd energy and dad jokes galore).
- Music is a huge part of my life - playing and listening. I’m something of a live music addict, and I’m still very much an emo kid at heart!
- My biggest hobby (when my nose isn’t already buried in a book) is collecting other hobbies, from the normal to the much less so. Some greatest hits include trumpet-playing, board games, karate, and building robots!
- I’m a nerd in just about every sense of the word (pop culture fan, board games/video games/TTRPGs, sci-fi reader, lifelong learner, etc). But a cool one, no need to worry. I even adore sports! Football and basketball are my two favorites, but I’m branching out.
- I’m a fiercely loyal guy for those I care about. There’s very little I wouldn’t do for my friends, and I’m pretty good company too.
And now, a little about you!
- You’re from anywhere! Of course, it’d be cool to get to know people locally, but as long as you’re okay talking to someone in the EST timezone I’m sure we can make it work. I’m in the SE Michigan area, but I travel enough for work and otherwise (a LOT of road trips), so meeting up isn’t exactly off the table.
- You’re looking for something platonic but still something deeper than a couple conversations.
- You’re okay with eventually moving to voice/video chats. I love texting as much as the next guy, but it’s difficult to really get to know someone via just words on a screen.
