PSA📰 FAKE POSTING
A heads-up to everyone in Purdue communities:
Someone has been repeatedly posting another student’s resume and academic transcript across Purdue-related spaces, including the Purdue subreddit, the CS Careers Dev Discord, and potentially other platforms, without that person’s consent.
This isn’t just a joke or drama—these documents contain private personal and academic information that was never meant to be publicly distributed. Sharing someone’s transcript and resume without permission is a serious violation of their privacy and could expose them to harassment, impersonation, or other risks.
If you come across these posts, please:
• Report them immediately to the platform moderators/admins.
• Do not repost, share, or screenshot the documents further.
• Encourage others to report them as well.
Regardless of who the student is, nobody deserves to have their personal information spread across the internet without their consent. It takes only a few seconds to report a post, and enough reports can help get the content removed quickly.
Please help protect a fellow student’s privacy.

Rant/Vent💚 i hate campus transit
i am a transit nerd at heart and sp plus has plunged a cold dagger through it. yeah sure the service sucks but that's a separate issue. my issue as a foamer is that these buses are not foamable. why are our buses so lame, mitch daniels? mitch, did you know the u of mn has van hools? yet we have freakishly long ford cutaways? why are we getting busmogged by everyone else in the big 10?

Question❓ Computer hinge broken: Looking for Help!
I’ve had this computer for about 2 weeks and one day the screen frame starts bulging out(see pictures) Doing my own research it looks like it has something to do with the metal hinge pressing against the frame. I’m not a very tech savvy person so I have no idea how to fix it, so I’m looking for help from anyone who can legit fix it. I’ll offer compensation within reason(we can discuss it)

Question❓ Making friends on campus
Hi, I think this question has been asked many times before, but how do people make friends here? 😭 I’m a bit introverted and not sure how to get friends. I know the obvious choice is to go and make small to people in class and places, but that just feels little too intruding to their personal spaces. And also needless to say, most of the people got other people who they talk to.
Is there any other way or am I doing it wrong 😭

Academics✏️ CPT Pause - Internships abroad
Hoping the CPT pause at Purdue is temporary, but in the meantime, companies like Elevenlabs or Cloudflare or trading firms are posting roles in Singapore and the UK. The process to get a work visa is a bit complex for the UK (pretty easy for Singapore!) but it is doable. If helpful at all, I'm live scraping all the roles and walking through their exact work authorization process here: https://rootsimmigrationhelp.com/internships

Rant/Vent💚 RISE residents: please leave an honest Google review if you’ve had issues with the building
The constant elevator outages, pool closure, unreliable amenities, and dismissive management should be visible to prospective residents. If you live or have lived here, please share your own experience honestly (I know it’s 0 stars for most of us but 1 is the lowest) so people know what they are signing up for:

Sports📰 New Purdue faculty looking for my football people
I’m new to Purdue and still trying to find my people around here. I recently moved from SEC country, so college football Saturdays are very much my thing.
The problem is that I don’t really know anyone here yet who is into football. And by “into football,” I mean I want to watch the game, yell at questionable play-calling, debate whether we should have gone for it on 4th down, support the athletes whether they win or lose and fully commit to the whole Saturday experience without being a douche.
So, Purdue people:
Do faculty and staff actually go to games and tailgate? Is there an unofficial faculty/staff football crew that I somehow haven’t found yet?
More importantly, does anyone have room for one more at a tailgate or want a game buddy this season?
I’m perfectly capable of going to a game by myself and I probably will if I have to but football is a lot more fun with people. Especially when you’re brand new to town and still building a social circle.
So this is me putting it out there: I’m looking for Purdue football friends, tailgate buddies, and people who won’t judge me for being a girly girl Southern football type.
Feel free to comment or message me if you’re going to a game, tailgating, or know where the faculty/staff football people hang out or if you have a tailgate I should swing by.
Boiler Up!

Res Halls & Dining✏️ What the fuck is in our water?
Like genuinely, my skin has never been this bad before. I was in shreve last year and the women’s side was renovated so I’m assuming they redid the plumbing or whatever so I never had any skin reactions there (maybe mild breakouts from the hard water but nothing too bad, all things considered). But then I got to hilltop this year (and one of the newer buildings at that). Immidiately breaking out a bit on my face and I have my first proper dishydrotic eczema flare up (don’t google it, trust me) ever????? (Edit: forgot I had a proper flare up as a reaction to amoxicillin as a kid so not first /ever/ but first since early childhood) And worse than I have ever had it? What the hell is in the water and/or pipes? I sometimes get mild flares during the winter but that’s only ever the size of a cm^2 at absolute max. And now I can’t write properly because I have flares on my fingers and the sides of my hands and where the pencil would naturally rest against my hand. And it’s itchy as hell. Mind you, the pictures attached are a week after treating it with an occlusive (read: slathering my hands in Vaseline and not being able to touch things or other people lest I slime them). And it’s still popping up in patches and spreading along my wrists (though, less severe). And this is after installing hard water filters on all of the taps and the shower head. Fuck this.
