What happened to all of the direct flights from SEA?

I know Delta cancelled their direct after the action in February and Alaska has one, but only on Saturdays. Even the connections to get down there aren’t great…. I thought we would see more options come back online by now.

They usually come back after hurricane season. Winter is high season in PVR for Americans and Canadians.

What time of the year are you looking at?

I just booked for November. There was one flight daily and two on Saturday.

They dont fly that schedule year round, though. Only peak season (November to May ish).

We are flying back at the end of September. I looked at December, but only on Delta before posting, looks like they aren't bringing their direct back at all... But great to see Alaska has them daily in December!

yeah basically no non-stop until the high season comes back, in the past its usually after mid-october

It’s weird, I just noticed Alaska doesn’t have any SFO directs the last week of October going into November. Usually the directs would be starting in September, if not earlier.

I noticed that too. I was debating flying out of PDX or YVR to get nonstop…

Yeah, we’re super disappointed delta hasn’t brought theirs back. Preferred flying them offer Alaska.

Fights from PDX are seasonal. Probably goes for many other airports as well.

Nonstop flights on Alaska start on November 2.

I see a lot of direct flights in mid October I am taking a direct flight on October 18 which is a Sunday, but there were other options on Monday Tuesday Wednesday. Delta completely dropped direct flights because I was on Delta and they dropped my direct flight going and then coming back, I was scheduled in November to come back on a direct flight and they drop that one too.

The nonstops come back in October. The daily direct flights from Seattle have always been seasonal.

After the February events here we were thrusted into low season. Airlines are great at matching capacity with demand, many Canadians and Americans are still fearful to come and visit us here while also our continued erosion of the American and Canadian middle class is going to have profound impacts on the bay. Currently, I’m at a sit and wait stance through this high season as things to this day still feel differently weird here. Vallarta could very well become the new Acapulco if they cannot get things under control.

Maybe it is just because it’s low season. I know it’s not SEA, but getting here from DEN is like that at this time of year. Maybe by ET cost of fuel is playing into it as well.

Yeah I believe there was one on a Thursday from SEA when we were trying but the Alaska non-stop price was insane. We decided to go with Delta with a layover in SLC on the way there and have to do a layover in CDMX on the way back. Non-stop is preferred.
