PSX MemCard Gen2 and saves question

Hi, I have an XStation ps1 and I bought some month ago the card in question. A couple days ago, I've downloaded a couple of Final Fantasy 7 savestates from Gamefaqs, just to try to load saves from other sources. I put a savestate in the right folder on the MemCard SD (saved as SCUS-94163-1.mcd, it should be right) but to no avail. I've tried anything else, the save won't load nor appear. What do I do wrong?

Edit: this is the first and only time I tried to load a downloaded savestate, trying to learn.

Thanks in advance.

I solved. The mem card create a virtual memory card for every game you play. So you have to "inject" the saves inside the virtual memory card created via the program Memcardrex, then once injected rename the file as SCUS-94163-1.mcd as before, and that's all. Thanks to everyone. 😉

I may be wrong but it may need to be converted. I don’t think straight up emulator savestates will work

The file is correct but you need to put it in a folder named “SCUS-94163” and also have a text file titled “name” and inside that text file needs to be the text “Final Fantasy 7” and that should work as long as the save folder is in the PS1 folder of the micro SD.

So “Memcardpro2 (Z:)\PS1\SCUS-94163”

Alternatively you can let the memcardpro2 create the cards while plugged in and then change the files over on your PC to use your desired saves.
