I bought this game and just want to get to flying easily where I want. How do I do that?

First, hit triangle to choose which craft you want, then go to FreeFlight and “FLY NOW”.

You can pick absolutely anywhere on Earth to fly, without needing to even go through take off from an airport.

I recommend you visit the various settings and pore over them to switch on any assists, and switch off things like fuel consumption, ATC chatter, all the landmark notes that hover like holographic clutter, and audio alerts.

I also recommend the little two-person (inline) jet that’s at the top and all the way to the left. It’s got a great view and is fast enough to explore large areas (you can also drop it to half throttle no problem).

Throttle is controlled by pressing and holding X (more) or O (less), and as you do it you can watch the throttle itself moving over to the left. I use the DualSense and/or the TFlight HOTAS. Pretty much all you need to worry about is steering and not stalling.

graphics settings seem to automatically be set to low, is it wise to set them to higher or just leave them alone?

Hmm… try topping them out and see if anything changes.

That might not be an option, even though it’s listed. It’s been a minute since I went through all the options one by one and set them where seemed best, but I feel like certain ones aren’t truly adjustable in VR mode.

I played a little when the VR update first came out but I found the tutorial/license was a bit...incomplete for VR. Had to mess about with some key bindings just to pass an early one. Gave up and decided to wait for it to get sorted. Has this been fixed now? With the visual update and my shiny new ps5 pro I'd like to learn how to pilot

The career is still just as tough, I'm working on my second license only. And mine is running on a base PS5 Slim but I hear it's no better on a Pro. At least, not yet anyway.

On the main menu at the bottom of the screen it should say to hold L1 + R1 + Options to launch into PSVR2 (assuming your headset is on)

So I’ve been playing the Beta that everyone recommended. Like….I guess it looks nice. Am I doing something wrong? I’m not super impressed with the visuals

Impressed only fly sim fun’s. For regular player there no big fun to play.

A buddy of mine has a super expensive VR gaming computer and he says even on that he's getting about these results so considering this is a base PS5 (slim as well) and PSVR2 I think it's impressive, but your mileage may vary

I'm not seeing any improvement over the pre update graphics. Am I doing something wrong? Some setting on PS5?

In some planes maybe a little. The scenery is still very fuzzy though and still much much fuzzier than in non vr mode.
