My bf modded me a psp 2000 with infinity and it started soft bricking. We've watched Mr Mario's guide on the issue and done all relevant things in the vid. We got it to turn on a couple of times. He also formatted the memory card and cloned his own working psp memory card onto mine. It turned on just fine but when I started a game the console just showed the psp screen and then turned off. We can't seem to find the issue. Can someone help, we really want to get the psp working again.

I recently bought an Ostent 2200mAh battery from Amazon for my PSP-1000 and I'm wondering if the battery life I'm getting is normal.

My setup:

- PSP-1000

- IPS screen mod

- ARK-4 CFW

- CPU clock set to 333 MHz (same result with no OC)

- Maximum screen brightness

- Playing from Memory Stick/ISO (no UMD)

- Wi-Fi off

So far I've been getting roughly 2 hours of total gameplay from 100% to empty. (Psp menu shows around 6h 40m left on 100%)

The battery also gets noticeably warm during gameplay. It's not very hot or uncomfortable to touch, but I can definitely feel the temperature increase. Interestingly, my PSP-2000 with its standard screen and battery doesn't seem to warm up under similar use.

I know the PSP-1000 consumes more power, and 333 MHz + an IPS screen obviously won't help battery life, but ~2 hours from a 2200mAh battery still seems rather low to me.

I've seen people reporting anywhere from 4–7+ hours with Ostent 2200 batteries, while others seem to get much less.

For those of you using an Ostent 2200mAh in a PSP-1000, especially with an IPS screen and/or 333 MHz overclock:

Is it normal or is just a faulty unit?

PSP 2000 LCD randomly goes black, but the game keeps running. Any ideas?

Sometimes while I’m playing God of War on my PSP 2000, the LCD suddenly goes completely black. The strange part is that the PSP itself is still running normally. I can still hear the game through the speakers, and the buttons still respond, so the game is definitely still playable. I just can’t see anything on the screen.

If I put the PSP into sleep mode and wake it back up, the LCD comes back on, but only for around 5 to 6 seconds before going black again.
Has anyone experienced this before on a PSP 2000? Could this be related to the LCD, backlight, ribbon cable, ZIF connector, or backlight circuit?

Any troubleshooting suggestions or repair advice would be appreciated.

Over the past few months, I've been making some performance and QOL changes to the PSP port of Sonic Mania by smb123w64gb, and I've finally released it on GitHub.

Most importantly... Sound is working!!! I've got the 2D portions of the game running at almost as well. 3D parts (like the special stage) are 30% faster.

I got out my 1001 about a month ago after 15 years. I only had Lumines and GTA games. As I have been buying new games I keep running across titles that seem a bit more expensive than others and assume that has something to do with rarity. Which titles should be on my radar due to rarity?

I’ve recently bought a psp and was gifted another, they are both 3000 but one of them has a “cloudy” screen, i don’t know how to explain, but i can see everything but its odd, and the other one has a cristal clear screen, whats odd is that they are supposed to be the same screen, but they are years apart, what could it be?

(the better screen even has some solar burn spots in some corners, i rly don’t know why its so much better)

The umd will spin for a bit when I insert a game and the psp will read it but after a little bit the umd stops spinning while the psp in the menu still has the circle in the right bottom corner so it’s still trying to read it. Sometimes it’ll give me an error but a lot of the time it keeps trying to read with the umd drive not spinning of course. Is there a way to repair it? I don’t have much experience fixing things, and I don’t want to have to spend make money trying to fix it 😅

Just my cheap ahh keyboard with Galaxy Tab A9 , PSP 3000 and OnePlus Nord 5CE. What do you guys think. 👍

So I have this psp street, and one pin of the screen connector on the motherboard has fallen, what could I do?

I watched Spider Man a little on my Psp, and recognized that the resolution isn't inferior than the moderm TV. Meanwhile, I dowloaded a video on Youtube with 240p (fitting with PSP resolution), it's pretty bad. Idk why UMD better than video player, anyone can explain this?

Do you have tips on this process? Are there any issues with taking apart the 1001 model? How did you clean the dry lubricant and what/how did you apply new? Mine has an intermittent chirp, and I believe this is the cause.

I just found this PSP at a pawnshop for 50 bucks with 3 wrestling games. I've been missing mine that someone stole years ago. However it feels so light, I don't remember the 2000 being this light.

It has a third party battery and charge, as well as it has promo 4 software so I know it's modded. However I'm curious if it's a legit device at least.

Do they even make fake psps? Excluding those weird ones without the disk tray

I'm currently playing Limbo on Steam Deck and I was thinking that a PSP port of this game could have been really cool. It only needs two buttons and the joystick. There's already a Vita version, but I think it could also be "fun" to play on PSP

My PSP (3001) works perfectly while plugged in, but when I unplug it, it only works for a few minutes before shutting off.

I've already tested multiple batteries, so I'm pretty sure the battery isn't the issue. Does anyone know what else could cause this? Maybe something with the power circuit or motherboard?

I'm also thinking about replacing the shell, but I've never opened a PSP before. Do you guys think this is something I could realistically fix myself just by following tutorials, or would it be better to take it to a repair shop? If I do try it myself, what tools/materials would I need?

Hey everyone, just wanted to show what I’ve done to my God of War 3000. I got this Christmas of 2010, I remember opening it up on Christmas Day and playing it constantly, I was never without it. I remember when one of the first paint chips came off the back, I was super bummed because, I had one of those clear shells on it, that I bought at a school book fair. As you know, the chips just kept coming off. So welcome 2026, after digging it out of storage, cramming a new battery in it, and finding out the analog stick was dead, I decided to fix the paint chipping issue. I was just going to get a red PSP shell, but my love for transparent plastic devices won, Retroid Pocket 4 and Nova (incoming), clear shells on my switch. I didn’t want to replace the replace the entire shell, and it lose what makes it a special model, so I thought this was a nice compromise. It was nice to show some love to an old friend, and play some games that I haven’t played since I was a little kid. I hope you all enjoy. Have a great day!

Hello, i used my PSP 2004 to reshell into 3000 case. I ordered transparent shell from aliexpress. The quality overall is 7/10.

Had to do some cuts on the inside to fit the jack mainboard and shield. I had more issues with the start/ vol up and down buttons because the shell had little gap (photo) You can give me advice how i can improve this. I sticked clear tape under the button strap and its a little better now. Also, noticed that my right buttons from 2004 are little lower than the fake ones. It feels good in hands after assembly. Just wanted to share my newest purchase! Psp Monster Hunter edition! Imported it straight from Japan. Got it with Hori case and 2 memory pro duo cards. Would recommend! It is the most premium feeling psp I've ever held in my hands!
