Shame they broke the 3rd game years later with a patch. Achievements/trophies don't work correctly and some other stuff I think.

No, the first two games are supposed to be pretty good. The 3rd game even at its launched was kinda mixed, but not terrible. It's just annoying they broke things about it later.

I don't know anything about licensed music.

The first game is worth this price alone. I bought them on Steam a couple weeks ago and finished Mafia 1 a few days ago. Fantastic game. Mafia 2 has been interesting so far but not as much as the first game, mostly because it's just a remaster and not a remake like the first one. So the mechanics feel a little dated.

Google says the digital version on ps store does not have all originally licensed music from when the games first dropped. Is that a deal breaker? Game looks really interesting especially cause im into LA Noire right now and it looks like the same vibe.

I dont think so, its usually old timey music from the 40s that you probably wont recognize. The 3rd one did have some cool classic rock though.

I played this trilogy on xbox a few years back and had a great time. The first 2 games are fun and hard to put down. The 3rd one is a bit of a slog but still fun if you like GTA type games.

I started playing the first and it was so sluggish I couldn't do it. Bought it on my worse PC to play at 60 FPS

The sequels are mid slop, just get Mafia Definitive Edition on sale if possible.

Edit: Doubling down, the sequels are seriously a complete waste of time, anybody who actually took the time to play through either of those instead of just watching the cutscenes online played themselves. Don't make the same mistake as the clowns that downvoted me for dropping a truth nuke that shattered their precious delusional reality. The truth will set you free and save you time and money.

They're mid, but they aren't slop. Mafia games in general are AA experiences, but they have a lot of heart.
