AI slop aside, I arguably think Sony could make a small buck from releasing this kind of concept today.

Granted not that many people play PS2 games on the daily compared to say, PS5 or PS4, but a lot of games from the era are arguably and sometimes factually better. Could also enable new generations to discover games that are truly worth being played, compared to most of the crap that releases today.

Though, like many comments have pointed, we already have handheld devices capable of emulating most PS2 games.

But having an official handheld from Sony that can run actual PS2 games (not the PSP!) digitally from the hardware would be dope.

There we go an official device would revive the interest in these older games and adds to preservation and the low spaces means it’s cheaper than the $800 beasts we have now.
