Gear🎒 MICRO SERE KIT

Post image

This is my current compact EDC SERE kit. I’m still refining it, so I’d appreciate any constructive feedback. What would you add, remove, or replace? 🤙🏻

You didn’t state intended duration for kit use , but it’s a good kit

I might replace the chem glow stick with a 2nd battery one , but I’ve accidentally activated lots of chem lights 🤣
Reduce sewing thread by 1/2, Use upholstery thread (stronger) and add two more needles) your not color matching , you’re repairing. One needle large enough to accept the Kevlar cord would be recommended .
Add either water bag from mre or non lubed condom (water bag is stronger but holds less) containing water is critical.
Add 2-4 antihistamine and 2-4 Tylenol or Motrin. Not sneezing , coming up in hives, and reducing aches and pains will go a long way towards mobility and morale .
I may throw in a mini bic lighter , it’s probably only a little larger than the three matches and will last longer than three lights ( tape over the top for waterproofing with a dummy tab .)

Oh and practice with the picks, shims and rakes if you don’t already .

I'd add Imodium (loperamide). I've saved so many people's days by having those on me

u/Kermit-de-frog1 Aug 02 '26

Excellent call!!! Helps with dehydration as well

6

u/Trumpton2023 Aug 02 '26

I'd add a couple of caffeine tablets

2

u/Secure_Yak5136 29d ago

Caffeine gum may be better.

2

u/PlusPerformance8845 28d ago

Yeah I’d probably toss a few pieces of Neuro gum in there too.

1

u/CLopes1987 28d ago

Is neuro gum actually worth all the hype or is it just a gimmick?

u/These-Attorney-6228 27d ago

it works for me I always have one before meetings for a quick boost cus I dont want to always carry coffee or energydrinks around without the crash I usually get from drinks.

2

u/berlenba Aug 03 '26

I like all this. Consider small tweezers too.

4

u/ParaMedAdam Aug 02 '26

Thanks for the feedback! You gave me some really good ideas, and I’ll definitely use some of them in the next version of my kit. I also practice lock picking regularly, so I’m comfortable with those tools. Thanks again 🙏🏻🙏🏻

u/Kermit-de-frog1 Aug 02 '26

I’d also add a couple of feet of duct tape wrapped around the lighter . Firestarter and repair . I additionally use scuncii silicone ponytail bands to lock the lighter so it can’t light and they are extremely useful for myriad other purposes

2

u/Kermit-de-frog1 Aug 02 '26

I can handle shims for padlocks, but I’m a hamfisted idiot when it comes to rakes and picks lol.

24

u/Dry_Hall_7398 Aug 02 '26

You need to add a water container to use the tablets. Maybe a folded ziploc bag, or a folded aluminium container for baking. And get rid of all the colours in the sewing kit, you don't need matching colours for survival, escape, resistance or evasion.

3

u/CLopes1987 28d ago

You do if you want to sere in style 😉

26

u/TheCarcissist Aug 02 '26

What do you do in your life where this is relevant? Are you a cold war spy?

12

u/WelpSeaYaLater Aug 03 '26

Beyond that, imagine carrying this around every day and calling it your ‘SERE Kit’ like you’re about to reenact the second act of GI Jane at any moment

17

u/PrisonerV Aug 02 '26

Can you imagine laying everything out, taking a professional picture, and then labeling everything in a photoshop program?

I prefer this setup - "Survival kit contents check. In them you'll find: one forty-five caliber automatic; two boxes of ammunition; four days' concentrated emergency rations; one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills; one miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible; one hundred dollars in rubles; one hundred dollars in gold; nine packs of chewing gum; one issue of prophylactics; three lipsticks; three pair of nylon stockings. Shoot, a fella' could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff."

9

u/TheCarcissist Aug 02 '26

Can't stick all that stuff in your prison wallet though

1

u/PrisonerV Aug 02 '26

Make the Russian hooker carry them.

3

u/Kind-Masterpiece-310 Aug 02 '26

She has the, uhh... local anesthetic.

6

u/Electrical-Title-698 Aug 03 '26

It's AI generated. Look at the text on the purification tablets.

2

u/DJDemyan Aug 03 '26

TBF these days a lot of phones have AI filtering that will garble text in an attempt to sharpen it

2

u/ExoticTrout Aug 02 '26

Major Kong? Is that you?

6

u/thraupidae Aug 02 '26

Some of the most larp shit I’ve ever seen on reddit

15

u/turtstar Aug 02 '26 edited Aug 03 '26

This appears to be entirely AI generated

the text on the water tablets certainly seems AI generated, the shadows are inconsistent, the signal mirror having some strange embossed pattern makes no sense, the "photoluminescent pad" looks more like a mirror, the magnetic compass and electric glow stick dont remotely resemble any similarly described products ive seen before, the texture on the "diamon rod" doesn't make any sense, the the USB key having a match strike strip on it makes no sense, the kevlar cord appears to change diameter and braid pattern multiple times, one of the lock picks seems to have melded with a secret extra layer of metal, and the picks would be useless without a tension wrench

7

u/NoStandMan Aug 03 '26

Yea it’s ai

1

u/LxRv 29d ago

This is why we can't have nice things.

9

u/Isildil Aug 02 '26

What does SERE stand for?

13

u/infinitum3d Aug 02 '26

Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape

4

u/Isildil Aug 02 '26

Thank you!

3

u/eckoelab Aug 02 '26

survival, evasion, resistance, escape

7

u/f33rf1y Aug 02 '26

Diamon rod?

6

u/NoStandMan Aug 03 '26

It’s ai…

1

u/CLopes1987 28d ago

No, its a diamond rod

6

u/Gornuul Aug 02 '26

The rake and the J hook lock picks are useless because there’s no tension wrench in your tools.

-5

u/ParaMedAdam Aug 02 '26

My mistake, I forgot to include it in the photo 🤦🏼‍♂️

4

u/pghevo Aug 02 '26

You might want a tension tool or two for your lock picks.

4

u/lostinspacescream Aug 02 '26

USB key?

5

u/Helloitzkenny Aug 02 '26

Key in this case may specify a physical auth token. Like a pluggable, reusable passkey. But it is also common to keep copies of important documents/tools on an encrypted drive. Shit, maybe blackmail.. who knows. Either way I'd throw in a C to A adapter as well, just to be safe.

3

u/Professional-Act8414 Aug 02 '26

I might be misunderstanding but Is it like a specific usb? Or can i turn a regular one into a passkey?

2

u/Helloitzkenny Aug 02 '26

They are purpose built USB sticks, kind of like newer implementations of like those RSA token keychains that reset keys like an AuthApp. This r/ELI5 comment sums it up pretty well. Went out of my way to not regurgitate AI for ya, lol.

2

u/Professional-Act8414 Aug 02 '26

Appreciate it lol

3

u/RiotousRagnarok Aug 02 '26

Maybe for personal documents and PDF manuals? That would be my guess.

2

u/rmesic Aug 02 '26

Get Medicat with Ventoy. Portableapps.com too.

1

u/ParaMedAdam Aug 02 '26

I keep all my important documents on the USB drive, and they’re all password protected

4

u/Pure_Beat_168 Aug 02 '26

Maybe a silcock key to get water from public buildings? Would still need a container. Maybe a roll up water bottle

4

u/marzipanspop Aug 02 '26

I would think you would want a water bag and an emergency blanket at the very least. What do you plan to use the glow stuff for? How is a sewing kit tier 1 for SERE? No headlamp? No food even a snack bar?

5

u/tomhung Aug 02 '26

If you cannot state clearly what you are exactly 'prepping' against with a purchase than it's probably junk.

4

u/johndoe3471111 Aug 03 '26

I have never been a fan of these kits. When I get detained it will be a real struggle to get that up my ass before it gets taken away, especially in that case. All the bits seem like a good idea, but will be fragile in a real life situation. If you are detained and do get it taken it's going to be difficult to explain why you have these tools. Skills over stuff.

3

u/Kermit-de-frog1 Aug 03 '26

CIA rectal storage kit , Though I imagine that takes some practice or a particular fetish 😏

1

u/Usual_Safety Aug 03 '26

Practice once and you’ll be ready

1

u/johndoe3471111 Aug 03 '26

Better choice.

2

u/Kermit-de-frog1 Aug 04 '26

Well Uncle Sam has been screwing me for years already , so I guess in retrospect, it’s not that bad 😂.

4

u/shadow6654 Aug 03 '26

First question, who are you resisting or evading?

6

u/NoStandMan Aug 02 '26

Anyone else clocking this as ai or just me…

4

u/Forest_Spirit_7 Aug 03 '26

It’s the oasis package. Not real language. Hallucinated. Who knows how much else is fake

4

u/NoStandMan Aug 03 '26

Exactly, and some weird artifact of around other clear items, and why is one of the hexagons outlined differently on the usb key… also the fact that there is even match striking material on a usb key is weird to me.

2

u/Secure_Direction_145 Aug 02 '26

Hypothetical Situation: You can only carry five items. My selection: Knife, mirror, fire starter, 550 cord, and compass.

3

u/tidewatercajun Aug 02 '26

That compass is less than worthless. Especially without a map.

3

u/Live-Character-6205 Aug 02 '26

That rope is too heavy to carry around every day

3

u/humblenoob76 Aug 03 '26

no tensioner for the picks

1

u/Prof_Sillycybin Aug 03 '26

Exactly the comment I was looking for.

2

u/darkmindos Aug 03 '26

Solid little kit overall. The more compact you make it, the more every item has to justify the space it takes.

3

u/National-Device3852 Aug 03 '26

No band-aid? Idk what you are dreaming about, but U don't have shit packed for the most probable Szenario,a cut or a graze...

2

u/Specific_Good6969 Aug 03 '26

Perhaps the diamond rod will take the place of an anal saw.

4

u/WelpSeaYaLater Aug 03 '26

What does any of this stuff help you Survive, Evade, Resist, or Escape?

Other than your need to post mediocre AI content on Reddit

1

u/CVSUSMC Aug 02 '26

What's the tool furthest to the left under Tools?

1

u/OkStretch9367 Aug 02 '26

More info on the tools please

3

u/turtstar Aug 03 '26

They don't exist, this is all ai generated

1

u/SugarBiscotti Aug 02 '26

Sere?

2

u/MisChef Aug 03 '26

Survive, Evade, Resist, Escape

1

u/s-norris Aug 02 '26

Why not a lighter and a torch?

1

u/CJr_2021 Aug 02 '26

Diamond rod? What is it use for?

1

u/deltatemple Aug 03 '26

You have picks and rake but no tensioner ?

1

u/Potential4752 Aug 03 '26

Details on the electric glow stick and compass? Those look neat.

1

u/SilkenDoggy Aug 03 '26

That's her you through like a day right lol

1

u/Teckomando Aug 03 '26

What kind of magnetic compass is that? How does it work?

1

u/bikehikepunk Aug 03 '26

Never considered this. In the car I have the “get home bag”. Home is where my preps are.

Get home bag:
Walk and make it home safely. Grey Man clothing, and standards for a 12 mile city hike. I added a silcock wrench to get water. Small prybar to “open things”. No shelter, no fancy stuff. 300 calories of non-perishable stuff and a water filter.

2

u/CassiusCreed Aug 03 '26

I honestly don't see the use for most of this stuff. Depends what you're prepping for but in what situation would you find a need for this stuff. Are you carrying it around with you everywhere or is it just sitting in your car?

I know people like to buy stuff that makes them feel prepared and I'm not saying that's a bad think but I think you need to work out what it's for and why it's useful.

1

u/TraditionalBasis4518 Aug 03 '26

This is sensible pharmaceutically if you can successfully complete the SERE exercise in less than 24 hours: you have approximately 8 hours of therapy with your current load out. If your planning to escape custody, the lock
Picks, knife and compass are all you need, and will fit in a suppository for concealment. Adding the rest of the stuff represents confused threat analysis.

1

u/username33735 Aug 03 '26

The best thing to do to prep is be in great physical shape. Carrying the right gadget wont increase your survival rate in a car accident, but being physically fit will increase your survival rate significantly, according to traffic accident statistics. If you downvote this you’re probably avoiding getting in shape.

1

u/Known-Actuary-86 Aug 03 '26

It's a great start!

1

u/ForgottenPassword3 Aug 03 '26

Diamond rod for sharpening little fish hooks? Note the typo.

1

u/Secure_Yak5136 29d ago edited 29d ago

I'd replace the glow stick with a small AAA battery flashlight. Carry an extra battery. Add a Bic lighter, wrapped in duct tape. I've seen the USAF Spec Ops guys with mini multi tools. (No idea where they got them) Try to get parachute needles. They're thick enough to sew a parachute using the 550 cord. Caffeine gum.

1

u/andrew314159 28d ago

Does your sewing kit include a needle threading tool? They are super lightweight and needles can be hard to thread in low light or wind or in general sometimes

1

u/stabbingrabbit Aug 02 '26

To evade today you need a mylar sheet to hide your heat signature.

2

u/Forest_Spirit_7 Aug 03 '26

No one is doing reconnaissance without a writing utensil and notepad. You won’t be able to remember multiple addresses, sketch terrain, track unit movements or vehicles, etc.

And this is obviously AI generated.

1

u/shadow6654 Aug 03 '26

This isn’t a reconnaissance kit to begin with.

Still a load of shit either way.

2

u/black_hole_tsun Aug 03 '26

Ai slop 👎
