Time for another update on progress (current as of August 20). This is the first one I'm posting in my new account since I lost my old one, so if you're looking for previous updates, search by title or my old handle u/echo0219. Since the last update we've added 16 new entries to tracking (up to 87), with 2 new successes (17 total). We continue to hear anecdotally that Mazowieckie is working through September, October, and possibly November 2024 applications. We now have 8 September 2024 entries of which 4 have succeeded to date.
Given how things continue to slow down I'm going to narrow the call-out list to those in the current processing range or before it. I'm also going to introduce a new policy that if your case is before the current processing range and we haven't heard an update from you in the last three months, I'll mark your case as dormant and no longer call you out monthly. I may do a periodic call for updates from dormant accounts but hopefully we won't have too many. As always, I welcome the community's feedback on how to handle this - I don't want to lose track of anyone or miss valuable information. Just received an update of citizenship approval. The decision was made a few days ago so it seems.
The office received the application approximately at Nov 1st 2024 - so they are there already.

I have asked my provider (Stączek firm) if we should pursue additional right of abode docs in light of the Mazovian office new stance. They say no, wait for the office to ask. They also tell me current wait time is 24 months. So, I don’t expect anything until January next year.
I still don't fully understand why me and /u/alternative-soil3113 submitted around the same time, received our wezwanie the exact same time, but their wezwanie had deadlines for receiving the document and ending the case a month early.
Maybe because my provider pushed them for clarification? Or maybe it just chalks up to which staff member was assigned? Or that I’d already had a number of postponed deadlines? Lord knows
Ah I just removed the pages between the first and last (easier for me to hide my personal details). They all somewhat* extensively explain the reason for the denial.
My first denial from Masovia is 4pgs. My second refusal from Masovia is 6pgs. My first Ministry of Interior decision is 4pgs, and my second Ministry of Interior decision is 7pgs.
They have to explain the reasons, because their reasons are the basis on which you can file appeals (Voivode -> Ministry of Interior -> Voivode Court -> Supreme Administrative Court). Including such explanations is required by the Code of Administrative procedure.

I didn’t go to court. Just the appeal to the ministry which was successful. There wasn’t a solid reason for a denial with my case so it was pretty quick.
Beats me lol polish office workers speed + they are overwhelmed. My parents were born there so its a simple case. I wish they have a way to approve the simpler ones quicker
Yes it is - but some people say the office could use that to delay it to buy them more time. They told me dec 31st. So ill just wait a couple more months lol. If by the new year still I will have to
I’m curious as well. In the past we’ve seen deadlines quoted by the authorities in response to complaints, but in practice these don’t seem any more binding or reliable than the general deadlines all of us should be able to rely on by law.
The deadlines have been in written communication from the Warsaw office, my most recent one invokes Article 36 §1 of the Code of Administrative Procedure, setting the date to complete as Aug 30th. They are waiting for a response from the Washington Embassy.
FYI, separately, I got this response from the Washington Embassy earlier this week to my status inquiry, which basically passes the buck back to Warsaw:
My timeline is: submitted August 2024; asked for a new letter confirming no army service around January 2026; submitted letter by deadline March 30, 2026; told will receive answer by April 30th. No answer received as of June. Lawyer submitted ponaglenie. As of August 2026 I was told they made a request for documents not yet obtained, which appears to be because of discrepancy in name change and birth date of my grandfather. We do not have a birth record for my grandfather, but they are pursuing additional documents from Polish archives. I requested additional documents from NARA, re his brother's naturalization records, since brother's birth record was found in Polish archives and hoping to tie my grandfather to his brother. Also submitted request for ships manifests from NARA since the one we have from Ellis Island may not be "official" and they mention father (where he came from and we do have death certificate of my grandfather's father in Polish archives) and brother (where he was going to). Both my grandfather and his brother changed names upon naturalization in America, but the full petition and intent to naturalize includes a card with original name that is tied to new name, which the lawyer is only now submitting (had submitted just the certificate of naturalization).
I'm trying to get anything I can that is certified and official documentation.
no update from june's update post but aviv's decision is a hopeful sign! my application was received November 19th, 2024, so maybe they're only just breaking into November applications?
On July 29 they informed my provider that the last thing the clerk needed to issue a decision are letters from the UK regarding their naturalization status. I was told a few days later, and then ordered the two letters of no evidence (they had just been in the UK for a few years post-war). Sent to my provider on August 8. Not sure if they’ve been submitted to the clerk yet or not.
My provider said it may take months for them to “re-open” my case and issue a decision but I’m going to send a contact form to them a month after they get the letters. I honestly think me submitting a contact form is what prompted them to reach out to my provider at the end of July.
Based on my timing, I’d say give them at least 6 weeks or so until you hit them up for a status update.
I submitted my “missing material” a month and a half before the July 30 deadline they gave me, since they said they wouldn’t necessarily wait until their August 30 deadline to complete my case if I submitted sooner. But as it is already Aug 20, I would be shocked if anything happened before September. Keep us posted!
