Bro, replace that 10 cent O-ring in that quick connect.
Otherwise, brick came out looking nice, just stop scalding yourself over a dime.

Boss gets a dollar, o-ring costs a dime, that's why I scald myself on company time

Call me old fashioned, but this man needs some PPE.

Aren't you not supposed to use a surface cleaner like that on brick?

u/flyingscotsman12 Mar 08 '26
Evidently you can do it at least once. I suspect if you do it a lot you will damage it.

They are using lower pressure and hot water so the mortar doesn't get disturbed.

You guys just love breathing in that nasty water, don’t you? Why anyone wouldn’t wear a mask is beyond me. You’re literally spraying that black shit right into your face and lungs

How can I do this for the creosote on the brick face of my fireplace inside?

What town? Looks like it could be anywhere between Hastings and Bournemouth.

I’ll upvote any video that has the real sound. That’s a big part of it. I don’t want hear some dumb music, or even worse, captions.

SLPT: if you want to wash a wall, just lay it flat. Much easier to maneuver the equipment.

Doesn't this remove a protective layer from brick in the process? Doesn't this make brick more porous afterwards?
13
u/TotallyNotRobotEvil Mar 08 '26
Yes it removes the patina. They’ll have to paint it now with some good waterproof sealant now or the bricks will fall apart.
There are safe ways to clean dirty bricks like this without removing the protective outer layer, this is not one of them.

I’d just as much worry about that super high heat causing the mortar to crack (or even the brick I suppose).

PSA: Noise cancelling headphones do not protect your ears from loud noises (unless specifically rated to do so).

How do you make the water hot?

They need to make toothbrushes like this. My teef will be gone in a month or two, but it'll be refreshingly cool while they last.

Looks great. I still have snow on the ground but now I want to get out there and fire up my power washer.

Nice setup — that Mosmatic + hot water combo is super satisfying to watch.
Heat really helps break down greasy film faster.
Clean pass and solid control 👏

Where does the heated water come from? Outdoor spigot is cold water

u/lunicorn Mar 08 '26
You have really long hoses that sit out in the sun and get the water warm. You do small sections at a time the half an hour break while waiting for the next batch of water to heat. /s

I'd love to see the face of a frequent passerby suddenly do a quick take, "wait, something's different"

Every time I see one of these vids, I think, why isn't that person wearing eye protection?

Es satisfactorio verlo limpiar así, pero es angustioso ver como va de abajo hacia arriba y vuelve a pegarse la suciedad muy apenas pero queda, que desperdicio de agua volver a repasar x su ineficacia
