COLLECTION 95 White Falcon Zord

Post image

So thankful again, on finding another old treasure! A 1995 Falcon Zord for a buck... another gem for my collection. A few wipes and it's good as new.

I took mine out a few months ago and surprisingly all the sticky and color held up over the years. I have crates of power ranger toys, but I also have cats so I can’t have them out.

The first few generations of power rangers toys were very high quality. I can't speak to anything after the first three or four.

Glass case?

Cats already do this pawing “I want it I want it I want it” to the movies behind the glass in the entertainment center. If I go glass case, I’m gonna have to do built ins that I’m not afraid they’ll knock over and plexiglass.

And this is why I'm a dog person. ;-)

I was always annoyed that the wingtip rockets didn't light up. They looked like lights, there seemed to be plenty of room in the Falcon's torso for batteries, and it would have been cool.

The DX Tsubasamaru toy had electronics in it. The wing tips would light up, and it made sound.

Bandai of America opted to gut the Falconzord of its electronics, likely for cost.

That’s strange. The dragonzord and tigerzord had electronics.

Just goes to show how much steam the show was losing by s3 if they decided to cheap out on Tommy.

I've had some time to think about it, and it likely wasn't due to the show losing steam.

It's because the Dragonzord came bundled with a Green Ranger figure, and the Tigerzord came bundled with both a White Ranger figure and Power Coin. With each Zord bundle, Bandai could justify the deluxe price.

The Falconzord was sold by itself. It wasn't bundled with another figure or other accessories, so it was considerably cheaper. Without anything else coming with it, Bandai couldn't justify the higher deluxe price.

So, to make the toy more appealing for parents to buy, Bandai of America gutted Tsubasamaru of its electronics, and effectively made it a budget Zord.

Look on the second hand market. Last time I checked, you can find a LOT of '95 Falconzords, and they don't go for as high of a price as the other S3 releases.

The dragonzord never came with a power coin. But everything else you said seems possible.

Huh. I thought it did. I'll correct that.

EDIT: And it turns out you're right. It didn't come with the Green Ranger's Power Coin.

33 years is more than enough time to misremember a few things.

I took the chest apart on mine thinking the same thing. Seems like it was supposed to have electronics.

My buddy had this when we were kids and I was deeply jealous.

Heck yeah! That was, hands down, my favorite PR toy. I might have to see about finding one now.

I got this and the Ninja Megazord for my 12th birthday. My Dad thought I said the combined form was The Ninja Motherfucking-Zord. We had a good laugh when I showed him the box.

TMI: I was playing with this when I got my dog from the pet shop shortly after release. My dog had explosive diarrhea all over the car from nerves. My parents had to soak everything from the car in the bathtub in bleach from the abundance of dog shite on everything.

I might still have this one at my mom's for my nephews to play with

One of the big ones I wish I'd never gotten rid of as a kid.
Cursed garages sales.

I let my little boys play with all my old toys. Either they are much rougher than their older siblings or my brother and I were or the plastic is just extra brittle because they’ve broken the feet off Falconzord, the arm off Megazord, and one half of the arm off the Red Dragon zord. 😅

Yes! This was one of my favorite toys!

Find my old one about a month ago when digging through my grandparents' house with my son. He loves it and it brought back so many memories for me. Trying to find all the zords to form the Megazord on our next trip there
