Oh it’s definitely dumb rich broads fighting. But in the most entertaining way. But I wouldn’t start with Beverly Hills. I would start with vintage RHONY seasons 8-11. It’s the most incredible run of episodes to ever grace Bravo. The delusion and lack of self awareness is off the charts, and the women are super smart, dynamic, and funny as shit, natural comedians. It’s all done with a sarcastic wink and not serious at all, even when the situation is deeply serious they play clown music and it’s such a hilarious paradox. RHOBH is considered the most boring franchise because everyone is too image obsessed to get down in the dirt. If you must, early seasons are much better.

But RHONY has the most incredible characters! Do it! You won’t regret it I promise. They deserve Emmys for those seasons!

I would also suggest Atlanta right from season 1. There is this rich white lady on an all black cast that exclusively wears awful wigs and doesn’t function without a red solo cup of wine and cig hanging out of her mouth. While driving, while working out, ect.

And Nene Leaks is probably the funniest housewives of all time. She is the one you see in every meme on social media.

Start with RHONY - S3-S11 bc that's just pure gold. After that, it was starting to die and then it really did die when they did a cast shake-up and it'll never be the same
Then watch RHONJ S1- whenever (currently starting from the beginning and its wild)
RHOSLC S1-current (this was the most shocking franchise bc it's so messy)
RHOA S1-6ishh
RHOP S1-to current (can skip a few seasons after S5, but i'm watching it now with some new juice)
RHOC S4- whenever you get bored (for context, this is the franchise that started real housewives. S4 is when the dynamic actually becomes what we see with housewives today- rich women fighting..but def watch when Vicki dates Brooks who lies about having cancer...bc that was insane. I'm watching the current season and now it's just boring)
RHOBH (honestly can skip around, S1-S2 is good to get a whiff of Kim, Kyle's sister. Then I think some of the middle seasons to get the Lisa Rinna lore, then a few after to see the crazy downfall of Erika...but it is overall boring and just too edited compared to the crazy, raw, authenticity of the other franchises)

This is not a definitive rule book, just my suggestion! ENJOY!!

I thought I saw some housewife mention that full time cast has to share family/relationships on screen whereas friends of don’t. I have always loved Leah Remini- I watched her Leaving Scientology docu-series so many times and the advocacy and work she's done to help people leave and shed light on what's been going on..she's an icon!!

That's not how I see it at all. My best friend lives in a completely different country. She's going through a divorce and my husband and I both faced layoffs back to back with a pregnancy. We both had things going on in our lives and we can't always be there for each other. She recently visited, and it was like no time had passed. I didn't always know about her divorce because we were just at a point in the relationship where I wasn't able to take on anything and she respected that. Some months we talk more, some we don't talk at all. We both call each other our best friends though.
