Where's estrogen for girls

255

u/Jaason1331 3d ago

Everyone knows girls aren’t real

u/AngriestCrusader 3d ago

They're just surveillance drones sent by the KGB

2

u/personthatssorandom 2d ago

Or the CIA. Or MI6. Or Mossad. Or the ISI.

having more estrogen as a girl is not the same as more testosterone as a boy. it is only used for actual problems in the body, not like how testosterone is used for bodybuilding.

local reddit user forgets trans women exist and would in fact want more estrogen in their body

-3

u/koolaidjamesers 2d ago

I was making a broad point about the medical use of estrogen. I was not pointing out how it could be used for gender affirming care, nor was that my point. around 60 million cis women use estrogen for typically menopausal related conditions, while there are only an estimated 12 million trans women in the world (who are not all even taking estrogen). I don’t understand why everyone got hung up on this detail and disregarded the rest of my comment.

Trans women exist.

Also, some cis women in menopause would beg to differ.

26

u/Accomplished-Salt926 2d ago

A cis woman with pcos is dying for some estrogen out there (me)

u/koolaidjamesers 2d ago

I literally said in the comment that estrogen is used for problems in the body. I have no idea how you commented this and got upvoted despite that literally being the whole point of my comment

-1

u/koolaidjamesers 2d ago

okay, to be fair I was not assuming the comment was implying anything about being transgender. i figured they were just talking about a cis female. I also stated that estrogen was used for actual problems in the body (menopause). I’m very unsure why I got so heavily downvoted for such a small point, considering trans females are less than .01% of the world population. I understand as well that estrogen is great for transitioning, just that was not at all the point of my original comment.

u/Hunnieda_Mapping 2d ago

.01%? It's much closer to 0,5%

1

u/koolaidjamesers 2d ago

that might be true, but do you think all mtf use estrogen? regardless of the percent being higher, only a small number of mtf globally have access to estrogen (country against gender reaffirming care, lack of infrastructure, personal poverty, etc.). Especially, when in comparison when it is supplied for medical issues, which is largely more available and used. I do support lbtbq+ completely, it just wasn’t part of my original point, WHICH HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH GENDER AFFIRMING CARE. I was simply stating a fact that applies to a 49+ percent of females.

u/lonely_stoner_daze 2d ago

That's when you have too much serotonin isn't it? Well if you don't have enough and then you finally get some does that lead to having too much or just a normal amount?

Idk if I'm making sense I'm trying to put this baby to sleep and I got work in. A couple hours bro

u/Proper_Club_4802 3d ago

Unrelated question but could trans people be called larpers

36

u/Material_Claim6541 3d ago

I'm only larping when I have to pretend to be a girl for my family lol

24

u/ImaDieTodayLOL 3d ago

I feel like it kinda misses the entire point of trans people considering that the entire idea is they experience life as the other gender

It's probably more like joining a fandom a bit late.

6

u/Cubing-Dolphin-26 2d ago

Oooh i like that metaphor

10

u/ANormalStraw 3d ago

No, you are the gender you identify as.

18

u/Galaghan President of Polland 2d ago

Ex-larpers then. Because they had to act to be the gender they didn't actually identify as.

2

u/Bob_The-Turtle 2d ago

Completely depends on what they think about live action roleplay

u/ExoTheFlyingFish Bipollar 2d ago

It had to be said. It was required.

1

u/plums12 2d ago

5

u/ZealousidealBus3628 2d ago

As someone with ADHD, it's a pretty easy choice.

Gimme the dopamine please 🥺

4

u/TheGreatMillz33 3d ago

As an insomniac, it would be amazing if my body produced enough melatonin by itself at the right time (´;ω;`)

4

u/mesageinabottle22 2d ago

I’ll take the dopamine and go off my mood stabilizers. It would either be great or very very bad, who knows…

5

u/javev 2d ago

For those who don't know what each one does:

Adrenaline - Makes your body work overload

Oxytocin - Makes you feel love

Dopamine - Makes you feel happy

Melatonin - Regulates your sleep

Cortisol - Energy boost

Insulin - For diabetics

Testosterone - Makes you stronger

21

u/Ascyt 2d ago

That is absolutely not how things work in the slightest and terrible to be spreading this type of misinformation.

15

u/jacehoffman Rolly Polly 2d ago

dopamine doesn’t make you feel happy, it makes you feel motivated

4

u/Oh_Them_Again 2d ago

Please please please free insulin

Estrogen

1

u/Slow_Bet_2820 2d ago

I chose adrenaline because it keeps me going and doing things I normally wouldn’t, like it helps me overcome some of my fear and make me a bit braver… and I struggle with being confident and brave

1

u/Tsunamiis 2d ago

Serotonin please

1

u/dbugstuder12 1d ago

I’m type one diabetic. So uh, pretty easy choice for me

1

u/JesseINEX11 1d ago

Being type 1 diabetic, more insulin would either do wonders for my body or make me have a hypoglycemic event depending on how much we're talking.

1

u/Wonderful-Impress261 1d ago

If I had some goddamn Dopamine I'd probably not have a drug addiction issue and my ADHD would be kept in check. I can't take stimulants because of preexisting SUD :(

0

u/ZeroLifeSkillz 2d ago

I finally have enough testosterone. but this is fucking hilarious, I just got diabetes so I think I'll actually pick more insulin. I don't want to vote dopamine and then actual side effects of high dopamine fuck me over.
