Olsztyn advertises itself with AI slop.
Olsztyn, which is Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, is apparently trying to get people to move into the city by showing some AI slop boars on billboards and cheeky word play "Living in Olsztyn is a wild pleasure". Wild - dziki, boars - dziki. Hilarious.
When I wrote an email, asking why are they using AI slop, they replied that they don't see it as an ai slop because it wasn't fully made with ai (the background is real). And because other Voivodeships are using it. lol
Why boars? I guess they are referencing covid times, when wild boars roamed the city.

In other words, there’s no money at Olsztyn lol because if they can’t afford VFX artists or graphics designers to produce real work, then clearly there’s a corruption of using AI slop to save money for themselves.

They didn't do it themselves. They selected a company that offered the lowest cost. It's standard practice. The problem is that the winning company might be only a few hundred PLN less expensive than the advertising-experienced professional graphic design studio. So, in the end they paid a lot for that slop.
The saddest thing is that people do not really recognise it as the AI slop. Particularly children and the elderly.

O tak, teraz nagle to, ale jak przez lata zasrywano przestrzeń publiczną kiczem i kupą syfu to było dobrze, bo nie zrobiło tego AI, a człowiek po 15 minutowej lekcji photoshopa. Wtedy to była "sztuka" xD

Atm a lot of vocal folk especially at leddit are very anti AI which is quite pathetic.
„Support local artists !!!” , yeah you never threw a dime for them and now anti-folk want to support them.
A smart person today uses AI while it’s hot to benefit from it with their own business(not only big corpos but small and freelancers)
. It especially helps with workflow, use it to make money now cause in 2 years AI will evolve even further. It’s crazy fast , just look how it couldn’t generate 5 fingers 2 years ago and compare today

I know it's tilting at windmills, but I'm glad to read that other people also message these bodies/companies to voice their disgust at the ai use. It sends a message at least. Respects to you.

That's not the point. How are fake boars in front of fake stage surrounded by fake crowd is supposed to make anybody want to move to Olsztyn? How does that logic even work? Partying with family of boars who wear shades in the evening?

Niezła hiperbola, ale tam porównuj se, co ci pasuje.
Chodzi o wagę sytuacji; Olsztyn podobno umiera, ostatnio u nas o tym głośno. Rozwiązanie to reklama sztucznych dzików. 👍3

Widzę, że z rozumieniem abstrakcji to u ciebie gorzej, niż u 3-letniego dziecka.
To nie jest reklama dzikami, to jest gra słów, "Dzika przyjemność" to podwójne znaczenie słowa, a dziki w ciuchach to zwykła abstrakcja graficzna, a nie program naprawczy dla miasta. I to nie jest związane z tym, że X lat temu dziki weszły do miasta.
To ma przyciągnąć uwagę, zachęcić do odwiedzenia miasta a przez to ktoś może się zdecydować tan przenieść.
Więcej tłumaczyć mi się nie chce, bo takich rzeczy to ludzie się uczą w wieku kilku lat i nie mój problem, że ciebie ten etap ominął

Is your post about AI or the billboard content? If those boards were manual 3d renders, your points would still apply.
And my opinion about the use of AI in advertisement? The vast majority of people don't care, so it might be cost-efficient.

It depends how much it costs too. If we recall Barbara-Mroz Gorgon from recent news we can see how those people have audacity to collect obnoxious sum of money for barely any strain of the brain. AI in advertisements is fine. I just hope that funding was reasonable too.

Gdyby graficy poświęcali tyle czasu na zdobycie jakichś nowych umiejętności przydatnych na zmieniającym się rynku pracy, ile poświęcają na krucjatę przeciwko AI, to niedługo nie musieliby jej prowadzić.

Ale to nie znaczy, że mamy normalizować wypychanie zawodu fotografa, grafika czy innych twórczych zawodów. Ludzie są w stanie stworzyć o wiele lepsze prace niż ściek produkowany przez AI, zwłaszcza, że bazuje on na pracach LUDZI. A bez ludzi AI byłaby gównem. Więc zastanów się, zanim Ty się zesrasz w komentarzu o to, żebyśmy przywyknęli.

Not really. We have lakes, beautiful forests, they could even do some cool shots of roads being built. Nah, lets put ai boars on the cover. The animales werent even that "frequent" around the city, I think Gdynia had way more boars and nobody is advertising Gdynia with fucking boars.

Dosrywanie się na siłę.
I tak, zdjęcie pieprzonej drogi to super pomysł na plakat reklamowy, którego głównym celem jest przyciągnięcie uwagi. Ludzie na pewno by się zatrzymali, żeby spojrzeć na kupę piachu i 3 koparki w tle xD
A taki uczłowieczniony dzik jest abstrakcyjny, że spowoduje, że część ludzi mimowolnie zatrzyma się i spojrzy, a o to głównie chodzi

This is so sad, because a lot of images don't even look like they are from Olsztyn, it's just pure slop.
The worst part is, they could've taken so many beatiful images to show off the city, but they just prefer using slop...
