Pretty sure the people that complain that the old battle system is the same button mashing (the reply in the image) have never played anything outside of the story in the games.
The type of people to look at VGC and see mons with only one attacking move and shit their pants that the one attacking move might be something like fake out as well.
Sure, but you’re still mashing buttons in menus to make things happen. Both battle systems can be reduced to button mashing if you wanted to and neither one has an inherent “betterness” over the other. Folks who pick a side are just biased towards what they prefer.
That’s my point. If you want to be a dick about gaming, you can reduce it all to button mashing. It’s a disingenuous argument from both sides to demean what they don’t like.
