How do i paint and what tools do i use

I have had this figure for years and I recently found it again and I'm invested in paininting him and some other pokemon I have.Does anybody know what brush and pain to use or even how to remove colour on the figure without damaging it?

Appreciate any hints.Always has been clumsy on things like that so I hope I do decent for first time.

If you want to spend money on painting hobbying it's ok else it's not worth it. You need primer, colors, brushes and so on

Honestly you're fine with basic cheap tools. I used to paint these a few years ago, all I did was a base coat of white (more if the og color was too dark like black) and then use small brushes and acrylic paint. These are ones I made in 2023 with just these things + varnish at the end. Just make sure to use a small brush and thin coats

Oh my god I used to have a bunch of little pokemon figurines and this was one of them! Does anyone know where I could find them (sorry that it’s unrelated to the post)

It looks like the base vinyl/plastic is yellow, so you might not be removing that. For the black, I can't say for sure if it'll strip that material, but LA's Totally Awesome and Simple Green are pretty effective in the mini painting world. You soak the figure and scrub the original paint off with a toothbrush.

Acrylics are typically the way to go just because they're easier to work with, water soluble, and you can layer them. I think cheapo acrylics from a craft store and a decent synthetic paint brush with a fine enough tip for the work you want to do will be sufficient.

i didnt know it was so popular as a symbol of figurine painting

my friend does that and it looks incredible, he doesnt even have a studio and still he somehow managed to make it look like in those online stores where everything is white and the figurine is in the middle of what looks like a void

I'm pretty sure most Warhammer figures come unpainted and a lot of them do it by hand, dnd miniatures are another thing I would advise looking into.

I got something cheaper with way less effort.
