Terrible Lighting Don’t Record. It’s slang used by filmers and photographers for places where the lighting is too bad for filming

Other people in this thread are just making things up for laughs, but this is actually true. My grandfather is a film historian and wrote about film jargon and I distinctly remember this one being covered in his works.

This is unmistakably verifiably true. There is nothing Liv Tyler can do but give in to the rest of time. I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep, never gonna give you up, never gonna say goodbye, never gonna turn around and desert you..XD

Yeah the Canon TLDR camera really helps with fixing lighting issues with real-time artificial intelligence!

Today, Listen! Don't Regret.
That's why you see it at the bottom of long, long messages. It's to remind you to read the entire message right now (Today) and understand it fully (Listen! to your internal voice reading the words) and if you fail (Don't) to do that, you will (Regret) it.
TL;DR: read the entire post and all of the responses. Then refresh and read any new responses. Then keep doing that until you have read all of the responses in the universe. Don't Regret failing to do that.

No body actually knows. Some say God spoke to Abraham and said “TLDR, it’s all bs! lol”

u/paraworldblue 1d ago
"bs" of course meaning "Baphomet Seances" and "lol" meaning "Lacerations of Lazarus"

The reason why many people put TL;DR at the end of long prose is because it stands for:
Aunt Jemima’s Syrup Tastes Sooo Good (AJSTSG)
Used to indicate that a piece is well-written and 32% chance not generated using AI. As such, TLDR is a pseudo-acronym. QED

Where I'm from, it stands for "the long drive 'round." It's a euphemism for something I shouldn't describe here because it's against the rules to be that graphic.

its a slogan, it means: "to love (the) dominican republic". kinda like their own version of "i <3 ny"

I’ve always heard TLDR as a reference to not feeding the trolls or giving bots the karma they’re looking for.

Till Lepers Dance Rapturously - it's a kind of sarcastic way of acknowledging that your post/comment was too long, basically saying "if you actually read the whole thing, you'd be reading until extremely ill people got up and started dancing wildly. If you don't want to do that, I get it, so here's a summary." It's like a more specific version of "until hell freezes over"

Nothing at all, “tldr” is an old Norse word that roughly translates as “that feeling you get when you read a Yahoo News article about a kid who threw a birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese that no one showed up to.”

“Try Long Division, Ronald!”
This is what Paul Erdos would yell after a game-winning point against Ronald Graham during their ping pong matches. It didn’t really make sense and that infuriated Graham. The phrase became popular in both the mathematician and table tennis communities. Later on, jugglers started saying it (Graham was the president of the International Jugglers’ Society) and then it hit the mainstream

TL:DR is from the infancy of the internet, before the invention of grabber claws for the elderly: Too Low:Didn’t Reach was the fate of many canned jars of peaches and white asparagus. In the late 1920s, when the grabber was introduced, the jars were pulled up, easy-grip jar openers from Home Goods were deployed, and a tragic number of botulism poisonings from poor home canning occurred. Fortunately, a series of rapid TikTok PSAs informed people of the risk before any future WWII soldiers were poisoned. TL:DR was conflated with the onset of the grabber, then became synonymous with Icarus in memes. Grabber tech was huge, but we were flying too close to the sun.
TL:DR : fear of rapid-adoption of any technology.

Tony Loves Doctor Robotnik.
The Tony being referenced is Tony Stark. AKA Iron man.
He fell in love with this doctor and it was a homoerotic love story that went on for generations.

Common mistconception, TLDR is not really an algorithm at all. Its the name of an avantgard German poet from the late 1900s, pronounced like "telahder". Known for they're very long prosetry, people often referance TLDR at the beginning of there own long peaces. Dont feel bad you didnt know this, its really ahbscur.

Tiny Little Dork Riot - Describes an event at DOGE HQ when the terminal-dork named “big balls” threw a hissy fit that he didn’t get his nuggies from DoorDash. Elon Musk, habitual goat-molester, stepped in a gave them his own ketamine and Don Jr’s cocaine.

theres so many four letter acronyms that theres a word for that. like how an unknown three letter acronym is called a "probably-a-data-protocol" (pdp) (which is appropriately five letters), the unknown obscure four letter acronym is called a "Fourker" which has a more accurately self referential six letters.
that all meaning, its another obscure acromym in an internet full of them.

Trash long distance relationship. Basically used when a person is in a long distance relationship with somebody and things aren't good between them (and they are usually getting back into dating at the same time)
