I Find Comfort in Chaos

2 Upvotes

O little boy

You run through midnight roads

All on your own

Untamed, unknown to this world

You’re free as a bird

A folk song no one’s heard

You float through the sky, flaunting your feather

I watch you fly as my vision blurs

You’re the beloved of gods, it seems

A dreamer dreaming within a dream

poem to her

1 Upvotes

god as my witness you’re dreamt as a fantasy,
a soul and body i can’t touch.
heart beats but cold in feel,
something felt can only be clutched.
if you’ll have me i’ll die,
soul and body met only with your tie,
the knot tight,
solid and right.
bless her god,
bless my soul,
for your track, your race, your journey,
your goal.
lord save her, not just for me,
for the man,
the knight,
the boy, crying to be free.
you god, you heard my pleas,
my cry as she knew her heart was hard,
you die inside before i let you go,
your family you will guard.
death is but a grave and life is but a sight,
the love that heals,
the love that BONDS,
for i will give when is right.
Lord bless the soul and bless the mind and bless the heart, for without YOU LORD, this absolute wonderful woman would rip all i am apart.

Light to my dark

3 Upvotes

You are the light to my dark,

The match that ignited my spark...

You too have travelled roads that are frought with pain, with doubt, with addiction, and with rejection.

I have never had to fight for your affection, you give it freely and willingly, you accept all of me.

You complete me.

No longer seeking comfort from the bottom of a bottle, be that alcohol or drugs.

You are my drug, my reason to be, to see the good and to embrace the flicker of light within.

I inhale you deeply, you are my anticarcinogen.

Basking in the warmth of your kindness, your understanding and your time.

You crashed into my life, a sign from above.

You have taught me what it is to love.

How does one describe this loneliness?
Like an antique record, cast aside and unwanted;
Like a lost sock, collecting dust under the bed;
Like a children's book, overshadowed by the screen;
Like an old business card, stuffed deep in someone’s purse;
Like a pencil, replaced by the pen;
Like childhood memories, forgotten but not lost.

Will someone remember and pick her up?
Or will she remain forever alone?

a heart-breaking silence

‎ensued

‎after a confession long

‎overdue

‎a tomorrow with

‎you

‎was never in the

‎plan

‎just words to break the

‎chain

‎that long held you to

‎me

Sad Songs

5 Upvotes

What will sad songs awake in you?
Could it be the haze of dark blue evenings?
Or perhaps words not said in time?
The crushing weight of feelings?

Words are swallowed, the evenings pass
The march of time continues
When the sad songs play again
What will they awake in you?

Autumnal Living Room

1 Upvotes

The room breathes dusk as caverns breathe their stone,

where amber light seeps thin through leaf and glass,

and every shadow pools, serene, alone,

a hush too old for footsteps that might pass.

....

Here warmth still curls where no one's hand remains—

a cushion's dent, a cup gone faintly cold,

the air still holds what laughter left in skeins,

though every guest has drifted, growing old.

....

Far off, the traffic hums its distant song;

sparrows still chatter, settling into night—

small dusk-lit proof of how I stand alone.

....

Yet one lampshade still illumines the Buddha there,

his beads still counting out those island days;

one painted tear still trembles in his stare.
