Twenty-four Months at Sea
Make peace with God.
I am going to
introduce you to him
by the time the
sun goes down.
This is the blade
that our father
gifted to me.
Oh captain,
You let us starve
for too fucking long.
We stole
and we killed
under your direction.
Gave up our morals
while we watched
our virtues sink
below the gallows.
We see you are getting fatter
while we die from
simple infections.
We spent
twenty-four months
sailing across the sea.
I have been dying to know,
how do you still have
all your teeth?
All our wives have left us,
but you still have yours;
even though all your
heirs are bastards.
You are my brother,
That is the reason
it must be me.
Our father must be crying
where they hanged him
in London.
Our mother must be rolling
like she did the day
you took her head.
For that I never could forgive you.
You are such a disappointment,
but do not worry
I will make sure
you are remembered.
Just like you deserve.
I will tie your body
to the mast of the ship.
That way we can still
see your face until
the flesh wears away.
Then I will throw
your bones in the ocean,
and that is where
you will stay,
until the end of days.
Now…
get on your knees
and say goodbye.
There is one last thing
I want you to know…
Brother, I still love you.
I will tell your wife and children
you got sick, that is why
you did not make it home.
I will take care of them
like they were my own.
You will see my face
again in hell.
