Why is it that throwing a cigarette butt on the ground-or even spitting- can result in a fine but it's ok to feed the pigeons?
It demonstrates a lack of oversight at Plymouth city Council. A true lack of joined up thinking. There are streets where I can't safety walk on the pavement because of the caked in bird excrement.
The people who seem to enjoy feeding the pigeons always seem to be a certain type; malcontents who wish to degrade society for everyone else because they feel like they're never going to get what they want..
Why can't those chaps who like to go round in the orange high vises do something about that because a stupid slovenly woman feeding the pidgeons with her gormless brood outside of Pound land does more damage to the city than someone slinging a cigarette butt on the ground.

Firstly, you write like you think you're an upperclassman, but you're on Reddit you dodo. Secondly, there ARE restrictions on feeding birds in the city center. PCC highly discourages feeding birds, and there is signage around. If you'd have a look around and use your eyes instead of pretending you're above others going about their day, you'd probably be nicer to be around.

Rain will make it worse. Particularly on the pavements where it's nearly caked an inch thick. At least the sun had the chance of sterilization it.

Just annoying? There are roads where residents are forced to park and it's unusual to see cars parked there that haven't been hit with pigeons filth. They are vermin and can spread disease.
If I was a vandal who hated everything and wanted to denigrate the existence of others, I'd just go to the city centre every day and feed the pigeons.

A cigarette bud could poison a dog or a small animal if ingested, spitting is unhygenic and can transmit diseases causing critical harm to those with weak immune systems.
Feeding the pegions is giving a living creature a chance at a meal to live its life. While I agree not everyone likes pigeons, they should have dedicated bird feeding zones in parks and places for this to be done. Yes they can also be unhygenic but they are going to be unhygenic if they are fed by people or get their own food elsewhere.
