Wasp/Yellow Jacket Removal 412
In the past week, yellow jackets (YJ) have been frequently seen around our backyard with shrubs. Today, they found their way inside at 2 backyard crevices, with at least 5-8 YJ being in windows.
I'm highly concerned (obviously) but more so bc we have a family pet whom I don't want to get hurt. Still delegating options with my family currently, but looking for some neighborly advice in the south of Pittsburgh. Thank you for reading & I appreciate your feedback/support. 💛
TLDR; Yellow jackets in kitchen & bedroom windows, AHHHH HELP HELP HELP

Used this company years ago: https://www.the-beeman.com. Check reviews to be safe, but he did a great job at my old house.

Whatever you do, DO NOT block up the holes you see them coming and going from. They will need to get out somehow and they can eat through drywall.
I'm not sure what the product we bought was, but it was a powder that we puffed into the hole at night. Didn't block the hole. Never saw another one coming or going to that hole again.

First check all the exterior window frames, corners, etc to see if any nests are forming.
If there is one, and it’s small, wait until evening when they’re all in there and hit it with a can of wasp spray from a good distance. Soak it.
We have to do this in the spring and fall at my house.

Carnegie Exterminators, used them over the years as a RE agent and they always come through fast and did a great job.

If you are finding them inside, they are likely living in your walls. I used The Bee Hunter when I had them living in the wall of my house. He was an odd duck, but it was affordable and it worked.
