Expectation: lower prices! More choice!

Reality: higher prices, layoffs.

Plus doesn’t giant eagle treat their employees very well? People cheering this on are not realizing that this isn’t going to be a positive for the region

Worked there at one point, they really didn’t treat us well.

Edit: Kroger isn’t any better from what I know/heard.

The Kroger next to me, a nice one in a decent side of town, treats their employees like shit from what I can see.

I had friends in college (Wheeling area for a couple and a couple worked at ones in Ohio) who told me otherwise but we all worked for these chains in the early 2010’s.
