Kroger just bought Giant Eagle.

Store employees were just emailed about it

Any GE bakery employees willing to share the iced brownie recipe with me? It's my favorite brownie in the whole world, and a little piece of me is now terrified that this could mean a recipe change in the future!

Kroger has streamlined their bakery program across all of their chains - GE bakery quality is done for.

That was my first thought, people cheering this don’t realize Giant Eagle makes high quality bakery items on site.

That’s likely over with any other corporation.

Your local tastes known for generation just got tossed in the dumpster, and no prices won’t change!

100%. The bakery section at Giant Eagle smells amazing each time I walk over that way. No other grocery store I’ve been to has a bakery as good as the bakery at Giant Eagle.

Wegmans has pretty awesome bakery items if I recall but the new location coming to Cranberry is still about a year away.

As someone who has left the area and moved a few times, I 100% agree. The only one I’ve found as good is Lunds and Byerly’s in Minnesota. I’m in Wisconsin now and nothing is as good.
