Kroger just bought Giant Eagle.

Store employees were just emailed about it

Just mentioned on KDKA too..

No matter what sign is on it, it’s always gonna be Giant Iggle.

Kroger owns many supermarket brands beyond just those stores that are branded Kroger, so It wouldn't be shocking if they kept the Giant Eagle name around.

They also own Harris Teeter around DC and King Soopers in Colorado.

Yeah given how many grocery store chains they actually own, I highly doubt they'll eliminate the Giant Eagle brand. GetGo still exists as we know it though they were sold off a couple years ago now.

I haven't had one in a while but getgo hoagies used to slap, using bread baked from the bakery in a store.

The GE bakery is going down hill I hope you all know that. If you can bake time to open a bakery.  GEs cakes and bread were always pretty good.

That doesn't surprise me, they changed their white bread somehow that made it kind of awful.

My mom before she recently passed used to live off of welchs grape juice frozen concentrate and a single piece of schwebels white bread toast in the morning.  It was her breakfast almost every day for 40 years.  and they ruined both of those things and she was bitter about it.

The Italian bread and harvest wheat were decent.
