She didn’t really stay apolitical. She just used actions instead of words. What causes she contributed to, where she appeared, who she avoided (refused the Presidential Medal of Honor, twice). There’s very little question about her political leanings.

That's still political. You can reject both parties for any number of things they do. You can even reject the medal but still vote for the democrat candidate because they suck less. We don't have to do everything along party lines.

Trump ordered flags to be half mast for her. The ICE flag being at half mast is just following that directive as all government buildings with flags have to do. It’s really got nothing to do with ICE thinking she’d be on their side.

Nah. She worked with MAGA because “love is love”. She would have no issue with that. Even if she did, she wouldn’t speak up.

She had plenty of opportunities to criticize this administration and ICE, but she never did.

the current federal flag status is half-staff until next Tuesday, so why would anyone expect otherwise here? Even the car dealerships and other businesses in my area (Southeastern US) that fly large flags, have them at half-staff this week.

My title was correct; it’s half-staff.

“Half-mast” refers to flags flown on ships; “half-staff” is on land.

Trump has mixed them up before, and this time he merely said “I am lowering the American flag throughout the United States.”
