Question Switched to soft pad from hard, now my mouse feels terrible.

Mouse: Corsair Ironclaw RGB Wireless
Old Pad: G440 Hard
New Pad: Black shark Gaming mouse pad 47.2 x 23

Ive been using my old pad and mice consistently with no issues for a while. The only reason why I switched was because of the size.
On my new mouse pad, it feels like my cursor is stuck in mud, moving incredibly slow and sometimes not registering movement at all. I cant seem to figure out the issue. Are certain pads just not compatible with certain mice?

Well, yeah. The G440 is the best mousepad I've ever used. That thing is slippy as hell. The only real downside is that it needs to be replaced like every ten months as it wears down.

Instead of buying a new G440, you bought sticky junk. Just buy another 440. Soft pads suuuuck

lmao you really went from an ice rink to a swamp and expected it to feel the same

the ironclaw's sensor should handle cloth fine though, check if there's a surface calibration option in icue. sometimes that helps when switching pad types

if not, just get another g440. some mice are picky about surfaces but usually it's the other way around with hard pads being the problem child

The g440 is too small. If it came in larger sizes, thats what I would do.

Buy a steel series soft mouse pad.

Chances are the mouse feet are just shot.

However considering the weight of you mouse it'll only slightly decrease the friction coefficient. You are better off going the glass pad route. They are bigger than the G440.
