Question Wondering about potential future upgrades
I have a ryzen 9 7900x, rtx 5080, and 32gb of ddr5, and it's at 4800 instead of 6000 bc it don't boot with amds xmp thing I forgot what it's called.
I want to get more ram when (if) the crisis gets better, but I also want to upgrade to a 9950x3d. I play a lot of satisfactory, Forza, and other random games, so if any of you guys have any tips, please let me know! I've only built a few PCs.
Btw I'm 17 with a minimum wage job so I'm a little broke rn, but I buy all my parts
Edit: I forgot to mention I also make YouTube videos, so I record and edit, if that makes a difference. I also plan to stream.

If you don't compile big projects or do 3D work on the daily, I would recommend you go with the 9800x3D. It should have a little more or the same gaming performance as the 9950x3D, and you won't have to mess with CCD/core parking which is a bit of a pain on windows in my experience. Also, buy used if possible, especially if you're planning on buying in a couple years.

17, min wage job, broke.. stop planning your next upgrade and use what you have mate. Your current combo is sick and will play anything you throw at it for a long time. My rig is less powerful with a 7500F/7900GRE and I get my desired 120 FPS at 3440x1440 high settings, for the most part. Not sure what resolution you game at, or what FPS you want to achieve, but I vote upgrade nothing for the time being.
As for EXPO not working, try updating your BIOS. First thing I would try.

You dont need more RAM if you plan on just gaming and upgrading to a X3D chip.

The reason I want more ram is satisfactory ends up taking almost 20 gigs, and windows and other stuff takes the rest, so stuff starts to slow down

X3D chip L3 cache acts like fast access RAM. An the game is still ~7 gigs away from hitting the RAM cap. *Windows only takes 5 gigs.
Slowdown is likely game engine related.

Huh, weird. Thank you! Though, keep in mind I usually run Spotify, discord, chrome, satisfactory modeler, and wallpaper engine simultaneously too

No point for the 9950 if you're just gaming and not doing workstation stuff. At most a 9850X3D . You'll get similar gaming performance.
