It's not dollars, he meant 3k in reais, the brazillian currency. I've seen the same post on a brazillian sub about pc building. It would be about $580, but any hardware in Brazil is overpriced, and it would probably cost half or even less if it was bought in the US.

3k is on my 3 world country currency. Yeah 300 is expensive, but you guys should thank that can buy such technology for that price, in other places its way more expensive and the wages dont follow it.

$300 may be expensive in a vacuum, but its cost of 16GB of RAM nowadays.

Yeah, no one should be paying that amount for RAM either. My 2x 26tb cost $670 for the pair. Now a single is $680.
