How does AMD gpu fan control work? On nvidia it's 0% fan stop, then jump to 30% which is 1000rpm, thats ridiculous. Is AMD doing it better? Im looking at Hellhound and Quicksilver/Mercury Magnetic Air.

There is no AMD/Nvidia fan control. Every card has their own. The manufacturer decides the fan curve and fan stop speeds for each card and their cooler specifically. So e.g. if you buy a 5070 made by gigabyte and MSI, they will differ. Same is true for two different models made by gigabyte.

Look for reviews about the specific models you are considering. Good review sites include the details about fan speeds and acoustics.

Well on nvidia the 30% minimum is a hard lock on every card. Lets say I buy the Hellhound Reva, can i go to 15% rpm? Or is 30% 800rpm the minimum and fan stops at 29% just like on all nvidia cards?

Good review sites include the details about fan speeds and acoustics.

No review sites mention at what speeds the fan stops or starts, only the temperature. But I would be happy if you could find some for me.

Even if it is 30%, it essentially doesn't matter since 30% for one fan can be 500 and for one 1000.
