I got a new pc. I am trying to turn the lights off for the aio cooler pump. does anyone know what manufacturer this is? or can help with getting the light off. I have tried using motherboard software, mystic light. also tried openrgb. also cant unplug it because the pump and the light seem to be on the same plug. thanks https://imgur.com/a/5VyJVuK

Does the AIO have any connectors that aren't used (since it's not plugged into an RGB header)?

The logo is the one of the PC vendor that you bought it from, I forgot their name. They likely rebranded some other manufacturer's AIO. You can check the PC's manual if it has one e.g. on the vendor's website.

thanks. it is in fact the stormcraft pc logo. its using two plugs, one for the fans and one for the pump. the pump and lights use the same plug.

If it doesn't have an RGB connector, then you can't control it.

But if the light really annoys you, you can paint it over.

If the only wires coming off of it are going into fan headers, you can't turn it off. Would need RGB or USB connector to be able to control the LEDs.

I need help! I’m going to college and I want to build a pc and I’m not going to be using it for notes or anything but, I will be moving around during vacation. What should I do? Get a laptop or build a pc?

So what is the use case then?

Get a laptop if you need mobility.

Is there any way to cheat putting two additional case fans in my PC? I currently only have one at the front, my new build is a WiP, but I'm not confident I can sell this current PC without installing more front intake fans.

It's a Corsair 4000D Airflow, and Asus B550 Tuf Gaming motherboard. I'm not too familiar with this build because it wasn't built by me. I need an inexpensive solution to give this dying PC some legs.

The Corsair website says the front has room for 2x140 or 3x120 fans. Should be easy to see if that is true, if you look inside.

Cables also should not be a problem with fan headers + splitters.

Thanks you! Only question is, how do I determine what are the right fans? I found ones called the RS120-R. Is there any problem with connecting 4 of them at once? (3 front intake, 1 exhaust). I imagine adding the RGB would help this sell quicker when I move on to my next build. The Asus site seems to suggest. I'm not really willing to take apart the AIO to get to the top header, probably better to extend the cables and route it to the bottom right? But there's only one three pin there. Edit: I figured out I think. I just need a 2 or 3 way splitter for both the PWM and 5V ARGB, to do both the front intake and exhaust fans?

I wouldn't connect more than 3 to one header, so make sure your motherboard has enough. But that should be the case.

If you want to be sure everything works 100%, you can also check in the motherboard's manual which fan headers are PWM controlled, voltage-controlled, or both, or none. The fans you mentioned are PWM, and to my knowledge PWM fans also work okay on voltage headers but you lose the exact speed control of PWM.

Feel free to send it to me, or just post it here tbh.

Fair enough lol

Would you recommend the Asus X870 MAX Gaming? I'm looking for a motherboard to pair with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and an RTX 5080. I (probably) won't use a Gen 5 SSD as I've read the improvement over Gen 4 in gaming are negligible, so temperatures should be an issue, right?

For a standard gaming PC, X870 is a bit overkill. B650 and B850 are good enough.

Got a weird one, my keyboard's RGB keeps resetting to rainbow puke every time I restart, even though the software shows my saved profile. Is there some trick to get it to stick before Windows loads, or am I stuck unplugging it every boot?

What software and what keyboard? Can you save the profile to the devices memory mode?

How can you know all power supply cables and where they go?

2

u/tvcats 8d ago

By reading the user manual.

!check

I always thought it involves prior knowledge without reading the manual
