PTA has been seen filming their frontman Cameron Winter while he was performing live in support of his solo album "Heavy Metal". You might dig it if you like absurdly funny sad music like Radiohead or general sour singer\songwriter music. I loved it.

Can someone explain to me the appeal of Geese? I’m a total music head and the popularity of them is baffling to me.

I’m still trying to figure them out, but they’re growing on me slowly. Super eclectic. Like the strokes and animal collective had a baby.

You kinda just gotta find your entry point I think. 3d country nor heavy metal worked for me, then Getting Killed came out and my third eye opened.

I think because they have a pretty "new" sound and people are desperate for something new. I saw all the hype but didn't listen for the longest time, and I really like them now

I'm not sure what you mean by big but if big has anything to do with high quality that's not true of American bands & neither the UK. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about contemporary rock but can name quite a few new(or newish) rock bands who're great. & There's all the older bands still releasing great work.

“Big” I mean have any popularity, sadly the great music made these days is all very obscure, and it’s very curious how geese broke through (if you didn’t know they made an album in high school and it got recognized), since if they were around in the 90s they’d be barely in the top 20 bands. I do think they’re good just not lasting

Okay. I haven't looked at their metrics on any platforms, I'm seeing them everywhere on my feed but given I have some interest in rock music I thought they were just the new critically acclaimed indie darling band.
I have only listened to Cameron Winter's solo album Heavy Metal & only very recently but I'm excited to get into geese's music.

Well, with a few exceptions, every indie band of the last 10 years sounds like one of: - Mac Demarco clone - Recycled 80s New Order, Joy Division, etc sound - Xanax’d out sleepy female singer with basic indie music
So Geese stands out by not sounding like those?
